Lets not get to cocky remembering half way through day 3 of the 1st test West Indies were still in the game until they fell apart.

If they can't bat with a red ball imagine how bad it's going to be with a pink one. Still in the game lol, 100 behind is massive.

In the 1st test they had Australia 6/168 but could not clean up the tail.

They had one decent bowler, and our worst one in Starc is elite with the pink cherry. I'd be shocked if it reaches much of saturday

So you think it will be over in 2 days.

Pretty much, I hope I'm wrong but we almost won by an innings last test and we barely made a par score in Adelaide

Need West Indies to bat first if your aim is to win in 2 days.Australia bat well they would be looking at batting to at least lunch day 2.

Can I pass on us bowling first please thanks but you are correct

Trent Copeland was saying that the Adelaide Oval pitch and the way it’s set up has been much more bowler friendly in the shield when using a red ball vs a pink one. Pink might swing more but it goes softer quicker and then becomes easy to bat. Red ball stays harder and continues to move throughout the innings.

Gabba tends to be the kind of wicket where if you can get in it’s great to bat. Would imagine that would be accentuated by the pink ball.

We only need 3 days to win lol

Again, this is a very arrogant view to hold given that it was only one batsman who even gave Australia a lead in the first game.

Yes Australia outplayed their opposition and deserved to win but they were far from dominant when you break down what actually happened across both teams.

Head played a fantastic knock but could have perished a handful of times, the main support he got was from someone who gave a relatively easy chance when he was on 3. You seem very quick to forget this

Well you had to have been watching the game to know this though. Or you could post your hot takes while watching MAFS repeats.

Sure. The Windies also had their best partnerships from their last couple of batters.

Lots of things could have been different, but I'm pretty confident that if you
play that game 100 times, Australia win it inside 4 days 90 times.

They probably do. And I’m sure a handful of people will do their usual ‘oh he’s just saying this because he doesn’t go for Australia’ routine but the fact is that right at the moment it’s the fast bowling line up that’s covering a lot of cracks together with some patchwork batting. Fortunately that fast bowling line up happens to be absolutely f***ing exceptional so even a GOOD batting line up would struggle against it so it doesn’t need a lot of runs to play with in order to compete or win at the moment

Don't think it's necessarily saying Australia has been great. Both team's batting just isn't good enough. Three days could be enough for either to win. If WI had won last match or upset Australia here I doubt plays would get far into a 4th day if at all.

Not to say you are wrong but i do disagree with this line of thinking slightly.

You win by lunch on day 3 and win by 10 wickets i think it is fair to suggest it was a dominant win. A game like cricket it is often one or two that will be the difference.

Sounds like Aust played crap, got lucky and still won by 10 wickets. Not sure Aust will play as crap as they did in the 1st test.....thus the perceived arrogance of the Aust fans. Be interesting to see if young Joseph can back up his debut heroics, cricket is a great leveler at times.

I know it doesn’t mean a lot but Carey named keeper in the world test team of the year.

Bizarre how often our players are rated really highly by our opposition meanwhile we don’t seem to rate them ourselves.

Only 11 other keepers with a higher batting average for the calendar year (yes yes I know it doesn’t mean everything….)

He WAS the leading run scorer though he played double the next highest.

I’d have thought given that he’s decent with the gloves and dug his side out of 3-4 awful situations Tom Blundell would have had a sniff
