His first three kicks were shocking..next disposal was a sublime slick handpass and off he went.

A superb debut 'league' game in front of a big crowd with plenty of big bodies to crash into.

Put his head over the ball in packs and fights and scrags with intensity and genuine aggression.

It's like Christmas in February.

To be fair they were under pressure on his left- but he is usually pretty comfortable on both so I don't know how much of an excuse that is.

He's got alot of grunt about him. Maybe he's not as vanilla as those around draft time said.

I had to laugh at his first few, he has set himself up nicely for about five years time when he is elite and people on shows like the footy show will be like, hey Darcy, you remember your first three kicks.

Like someone said before.. The nerves would have been buzzin through him like mad. Those first few kicks were like jelly feet but he soon settled in quickly.

Born to be out there a AFL level and will get a mountain of confidence from that experience.

It's great to be alive today.

Yeah they were nerves and with one of the kicks, he didn't have any obvious targets so he just went for space.

At the ground today, i payed attention to his link up running. It is great. As soon as he disposes the ball he sprints to the next contest to get it again or spreads for the next link :thumbsu:
Watched on the box and noticed this as well. Never flat footed around the contest, something I like to see.

Is just good at footy.

Bit of Heppell about him around the stoppages - always on the move, quick hands and reactions. Gives everything.

Will be a player, wonder just how good he can be? Harder than most to predict a ceiling for because his game doesn't revolve around obvious physical attributes.

Everyone is talking about his positives in this thread (and boy there is a lot) but watching the game live and the replay last night I did notice a couple of things he needs to work on

- When the ball is in free space his eyes raised to look at on coming traffic instead of the ball which caused fumbles
- Lacks some penetration with his kicking, particually on the left
- Seemed slightly rushed in the heat of battle

BUT - you can excuse all of these as it's his first game. I would hope that someone at the club is telling him this and he works on it.

I believe he is good enough to win the rising star this year.

Every so often a bloke makes his debut and you watch him for awbout 2 and a half quarters and it's plainly obvious that they will be a gun...

Great footy sides are built around natural footballers who get how to play footy. This guy will be a star.

Are you saying he doesn't ball watch?? perfect... another tick.

Bluey said Parish reminds him of a young o'meara
O'meara reminds me of a young O'meara. Seriously, the guy has played what 30 games and people are using him as a comparative tool?
