Welcome to Tigerland Corey Ellis

Whilst i have been extremely criticle about our drafting and my preference to taking other players and the order of my list was
Cockatoo,Wright,Ahern,Laverde,Weller,Duggan 4 of the 6 were no longer available so i would have gone Weller /Laverde but thats done and over

I still have some concerns about ellis but not his foot as i believe that seeing as how we were the club that noticed trengove's injury we would of made sure 100% what we were getting into and not taken a risk if there was a risk.

My concern is more regarding Ellis pace / speed , Whilst he has done well as a junior and gotten by , It will be harder to get through with this at the highest level and could be found out but againg he may adapt and evolve and grow to adjust his game and could be ok.

The positives now that he is a tiger player is that he did play injured and im hoping that was the reason his numbers went down last season and with a full pre season he may just become a better player. Another thing that gives me hope is that he is a Bottom ager and he may just grow a couple of cm and become a 188cm midfielder which would put him into the big bodied mid group and these days a big mid with class is worth their weight in gold

I really hope Corey does well and becomes a tiger champion of the future

That's the spirit, sure we all have our preferred options for the club, but once they are picked by the club it's great to see everyone jump on board and support them. Granted there are some things for Corey to work on and reading that he intends on being Cotchins shadow over preseason suggests the kid knows he has weaknesses and is prepared to learn from the best to fix them.

As for him playing games next year, for mine there is no rush to bring Ellis on, I'd like to see him start in the VFL and earn his way into the 22 through performances, much like Vlastuin & Lennon had to. The days of simply handing a spot to a kid because they are a high draft pick are over IMO. All players need to earn the right to wear the jumper.

PITY I can only "LIKE" a comment once. Couldn't AGREE more _EAD_ ....:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Rival clubs on Friday agreed Ellis, 18, was among the best kicks in this year’s draft pool but said they baulked at recruiting him because of the injury.

That injury could be a blessing for us getting him. Who knows how high he could have gone if 100% fit and tested at the camp?
The injury is my worry but I have faith in the club to nurse him through it and manage it well
Inside mid is a perfect fit for us
Look forward to watching hin play VFL at Punt Rd in 2015
