Yeah it's hard, but at some stage we've got to gradually start introducing these youngsters into the senior team. Wouldn't mind seeing Sonsie, Clarke, Banks, Brown and Cumbo getting regular runs of games this year. Then there's Ralphsmith and Mansell, Ross, Dow...

Don’t think it’s a worry at this stage
They are only 2nd year players and I think they have all extended the initial contracts they will undoubtedly understand they will get a crack especially as our vets age out
 
A great opportunity for him to rip a game apart. Likely no one anywhere near his size and strength. hopefully can control the air and cause a lot of problems.

I am seriously pumped for this guys inclusion. Riewoldt failed to bring the ball to ground so many times last week. This guy will not get thrown away by a player like Lewis Young. This guy can provide a down the line option for us so we don't have to rely on a shai bolton mark of the year. My only worry is his kicking but this kid can mark anything. Id have him running up the wing to take that get of defence mark and lynch deep.

Wow, I wouldn't put money on him even troubling the scorers.

His amazing preseason everyone is going on about was what? The last quarter of a practice match against a Melbourne team that was leading by 10 goals, had already shut up shop, and didn't even have May out there. So after taking a couple of marks against a player that had already played three quarters what was the result? Three points and one out on the full after being heckled by a couple of Cranbourne bogans.

The Adelaide crowd is going to eat him alive. Just make sure that he gets the hell out of Tim Lunch's way is the best we can hope for to be honest lol

Sure looks like May. From memory he was matched up mostly against Petty though, who is a premiership kpd and is better than any opponent he will line up on tomorrow. Yes Petty had played 3/4s, but so has Samson earlier. Manfred gave him big wraps about his half against the blues too before he was taken off as a carry over player.

So we are putting facts in the story now? Well, what you facts are really saying is that not only does he not have an AFL stat to his name that he is also underdone having only played 3 quarters of football in the last two practice matches and will have blown up before half time on the weekend and need to be subbed. FFS!

The last time Ryan put together 4 qtrs of football he was probably playing for Toowoomba lol

As far as I'm aware he hasn't missed a session all pre-season. He played four quarters against the Dees/Casey two weeks ago and half a game last week. I think he'll be right.

He’s playing as a 3rd tall and chop out ruck it’s not like he’s going to be expected to do massive amounts of running

Maybe just maybe select a bloke for his second debut in a way that he is likely to succeed. I would suggest after putting together 4 quarters over several weeks in real VFL match not practice matches AND at home instead of infront of 50,000 Adelaideans.

I go over every year and watch even our seasoned campaigners hear footsteps in front of that crowd.

I hope he does well but his and Young's selection are terrible match committee decisions and deserving of a melt.

Like a game where Jack and Tom will take the two best KPDs from a team that may well have the worst KPD group in the league?
 
Going back to last year our last 5 games we’ve averaged 61 inside 50’s a game.

Tigers averaged the most inside 50’s in 2022. There’s no doubt we can get the ball in and give our marking talls repeat entries. Our game suits big tall options, this is why Lynch has excelled.
Big Sampson Ryan is in the perfect situation to get touches. Early in the year with the weather good.
