Player Watch #33: Kamdyn McIntosh Re-Signed until 2025

A friend of mine who is in recruiting told me a funny story about Kamdyn once from a few years ago.

Kamdyn and a bunch of relatively low key players from other clubs were asked to attend a function to chat to some young draft hopefulls at draft camp or something like that. Kamdyn walked up to a 'kid' and asked him his name and who he barracked for a stuff like that. He was talking to Aaron Naughton from the dogs who was there for the same reason Kamdyn was...

Was a players agents function last year which is even funnier given Naughton kicked a bag against us earlier in the season.

Every club needs these kind of guys and he’s a bit of an unsung hero.
I knew once B Ellis went to GC it would reopen the perfect opportunity for Kmac to take his spot on the wing.

He’s definitely not the most talented player on the list but you know he will give you 110% effort and intensity and that’s the kind of thing that gets teammates up and about.

I don’t know if it’s the sports psychologist or perhaps some reinstated self confidence but Kmac have really found a solid level of composure with ball in hand whereas in the past he could be prone to panicking in high pressure games and turning the ball over.
Whichever way it’s eventuated massive credit to those and Kmac for producing the goods. A workhorse who has redeemed himself and now has this success forever!

What about this guy! It’s what this club is all about. Can’t get a gig in 2019 and then 5 th in the best and fairest. And one of the best goals in a grand final if you don’t mind .

This was my favourite result from the Jack Dyer Medal. Came into the team v the Saints I think and just took a game or two to find his feet and was getting better and better with each game. Five goals in the last 7 matches including 3 in the finals series. He is your modern prototype of a winger. Cheap, durable, hard running, aerial presence, guarder of space who seems nerveless when shooting for goal.

The players grand final recollections are going up on the club's website and today it was the turn of the "unbloodybelievable" Kamdyn McIntosh.

Was going to post that and glad you did already.

What a guy, When you want to know what this 'Richmond Culture ' Is just listen to Forrest and you just know
what the club means to him.

I think kmac has modified his kicking or is just making slightly better decisions. Hitting the scoreboard is very useful. His arc of non selection last year to having a blinder of a year should be inspiration to those out of the 22.

I am so happy for Kamdyn for the season he had, resulting in a second premiership after missing out both flags last year.
His emotion for winning the KB Medal sums up how passionate the bloke is.

In his grand recollections video reckons he was Shai Bolton like when he burned McCluggage.

Overdue bump.
This bloke actually makes me laugh when he gets the ball.
He’ll make the odd turnover but be guaranteed he’ll make up for it with some freakish mark, goal or shimmy......McCluggage.
If there’s ever a one on one sprint for a loose pill on the wing I’ll put my house on KM winning it and hitting lunch on the tit.

In for a massive 2021.

Still raging that he was dropped in 2019! 🤬🤬🤬
Kamdyn played as a defender in the VFL late that year and quite poorly to be honest. Glad Ellis left and freed up the wing position. Kamdyn and Marlion have been good. I can't see anyone getting selected ahead of them barring injury.
Pickett, Prestia, McIntosh are nudging Bourke, Barrot, Clay as my fave centre line.
