The AFL, being the corrupt organisation that they are knew exactly what they were doing and will gift the "brave" *FC with a top draft pick at the end of the year, so basically they will be rewarded for having cheated the system. Tim slowly coming to terms with it. Maybe in another year he will be 100% certain they cheated.

When we made finals from outside the 8 because a team in the 8 had cheated, * were pushed back to 9th in the draft even though they technically finished higher on the ladder. Would make sense to shift them to 9th in draft order again so they do not unduly benefit from the fiasco.

I can understand why he defends his son and his sons reputation, that's his right as a father. The problem I have is he is not impartial in his views nor does he declare his interest.

I don't think there are many people who are unaware of Timmy's interest in this debarcle, so he doesn't need to point it out every time he comments. It just shouldn't be reported by others.

That s**tstain of a club deserve to be further punished. We had a worse punishment for a much less serious transgression, so did Adelaide. **** 'em.

They deserve to feel some pain over the next several years for what they have done. And what they did was horrendous. Absolutely zero sympathy for them and their delusional, in-your-face supporters (with exception to a few of them, of course... they know who they are). I tried giving the benefit of the doubt to the players, but the longer it went on, the more they seemed to have their snouts in the trough. Especially when you consider the players who were planning to sue them have now decided to stick with the very club that led them in this mess in the first place. They were all complicit.

I really hope Hal Hunter doesn't settle, and takes them all to court, subpoenas and all. Make them squirm under cross-examination.

He's the biggest hypocrite on radio. And I am very disappointed with Leach... he went hard on them and wasn't sucked into the boys club, now he's jumped on the "they are so brave this year, they've been punished enough" bandwagon. If the AFL had any balls, they would have kicked them out of the league for two years. Or at the least, imposed penalties heavier than what we copped back in 2002.

They didn't whack them hard because $$$. Essendon are a big cash cow for them, I doubt they would have been as lenient if it were a team like, say, North. Gil pretty much made that crystal clear when he said that they want Essendon to get back on their feet ASAP and make them competitive again. Carlton back in 2002 were in severe financial trouble whereas Essendon would be able to take the hit. Back then we drew lots of people into games, the AFL knew that we were in financial trouble but did it anyway. Ron Evans hated our guts so he didn't care if we were on the brink of extinction.
