God I hate it when the yuppies move into an area and next thing you know it's full of cafe's and sushi bars.
Pffft. If you are looking back at pre-gentrified Thornbury with any nostalgia then you are wearing very, very thick rose-coloured glasses.

I lived on Miller St back in the late 60's early 70s... we had an awesome fish and chip shop, greengrocers, a proper butchers shop and the newsagency owned by Gary 'Flea' Wilson's parents just over the corner where the tram turned on to Gilbert Road. The place had a great community feel to it.

The only thing that I remember that was disgusting about the place was the old council tip down at the end of Miller St next to the hump :)

One day a brave journalist will write a book about everything that has occurred at the WCE. It will interesting reading to say the least. A number of coaches and players in the early 90's could not believe the size and strength of the WCE players. Then of course we had the recreational issues, Mainwarring etc and ofcourse nobody at WCE knew anything....even when Chad Fletcher nearly died....he choked on a peanut. The involvement of crime figures with high profile players......The media will not touch it because none of them want to be exiled. This is wrong and a serious abuse of Corporate power.

Come back to coaching, Hirdy: Sheedy

"I hope he comes back and coaches again. Everyone forgets that one of the great coaches at the Melbourne Football Club, Norm Smith, probably the greatest coach ever I think, he started at Fitzroy for three years and then went to Melbourne and became a great coach."

Mwaaaaahhaaaaaahhhaaaaaahhhhaaaaaaaa!!!!!

It would take a very brave journo MB, even braver than the *FC for the reasons you have mentioned above. Everyone knew what was going on but because the WC golden boy was involved no one wanted to touch it and the bans the journo would face from the media chief of WC, if he is still there. The club turned a blind eye to it all even after they were warned by some high brass in the police force a couple of times. This is a club who had one of the greatest wingman in Peter Matera but chose to name a wing on Subi oval after Mainwarring?

Just following the news... apparently Essendon are chasing Worsfold to come and coach them. After all... what could distract the media's attention away from the drugs scandal like appointing a pharmacist... ohh... wait a second.
Hey at least Pharmacist's keep records.

Essendon do too! It was all Neil Craig's fault! He was let loose with the label-maker and labelled the shredder "Filing Cabinet" by mistake...

You know that was supposed to be a joke by Neil.

James: Neil can we discuss my next contract?
Neil: sure mate come in.
James: Well I want $2M an year, holidays in France, Degree in Marketing and Business .........
Neil: sure mate sign here.
James: Well that went well.
Neil: Done now I will just put into the Filing Cabinet for safe keeping. See. Brrrrrrrr
James" Whats that noise?
Neil: ahh nuthing must be coming from offsite somewhere.

4 days since last post in this thread... Slobbo thought that Hird going would cause things to explode and not be a "circuit breaker".... How's that going for you Robbo?? Seems to be the best thing to happen to * since 2000.

Not sure if I heard this right, but is he going to write a book?
With all the media attention he's had recently, I would have thought he'd want some quiet time.
Ain't there a law about benefiting from the proceeds of crime? Ain't there?
