What's the status of Jacko? He was all the talk during pre-season yet he hasn't played well in any of the VFL games. I'm guessing he's injured at the moment.

Was just thinking about him too.

After someone suggested making Luke McDonald a pure stopper thoughts shifted to Jackson with "well maybe this kid can do that role better?".

Bit hard to tell with the injuries and how much scaling back they did with him. Never was a big ball winner, but he has been struggling big time in that department. Defensively been solid, but not outstanding as he appears to lack the athleticism and leg speed to go with some of his opponents.

May be a case of going to hard too early, which will teach him a lot about what it takes to nail a preseason. I think he wanted to impress to get his name thrown in the hat for early selection but it has come back to bite him.

Clearly he’s got O.P. Same as tom Powell in his second year. We won’t see the best of Jacko this year

He was one of the best performed during the pre season, so much so that he literally ran himself into the ground.

He was more than deserving of a contract extension.

Played a half in the VFL. Was being managed. Looks like he'll be nursed back now.

He showed more in his fist five minutes at AFL level than Crocker did in his entire time here.

OP can really take the speed out of players legs.

I love how Archer goes about it, is a competitive beast like his dad. Hope he gets fit again

Agree ferbs. Saw him up close the other day and he appeared far taller than I expected also. Crocker was a bit meh.

Probably slowing trying to build up his body and not to overdo it

He was running laps again in the second. Alf yesterday

i only saw a few glimpses of him on the weekend. at first i didnt like what i saw in his running gait. he looked to be favouring one leg to me. looked like a player who should not be out there. seconds later he went on a scintillating run through the middle of the ground. it was the best i have seen him move. also the most impressive offensive play ive seen from him.

dont think i saw him again after that.

not sure whats going on here.

planned managed minutes. played 3 quarters this week then was rested, the 2 weeks before were just a half so wouldn't be surprised if he plays a full game vs coburg then they have the bye. they seem to be managing him well. Really hope he can take that back pocket spot, he knows how to lock down players and could be our answer to players such as toby green, papley etc

Luke did do a number on papley. He wasnt an issue for us.
