Also who are Archer haters? I’ve never seen one.

People were legit saying he was a suburban level footballer when we drafted him. Plenty of them tbh, tho I won’t name and shame. Huge knocks on his disposal, too slight and injury prone, a classic North list management blunder by trying to be good blokes instead of trading for Brayden Maynard.

This guys importance is absolutely undersold.

We have been screaming out for a lockdown small/medium defender for years. We now have one.

He is actually quite athletic also and while not super skilled, he plays the percentages and makes generally good decisions.

He has his old man’s mongrel too. Gun.

Not going to get too excited but he has shown every game he’s played that he has a heartbeat for this club.

Still a kid and can play a role for us especially with some more size.
That’s probably closer to the mark than most posts. Does he have some AFL qualities, absolutely.

We beat a very average side and I’m happy we did. But anyone who can’t find 7 players in our winning 23 that will be lucky to be on our list in 2026 isn’t trying.

Made him invisible for the first three and Ryan only had any impact because he went in the middle.

The back 6 balance has been much better with him in it.

He’s never going to get a lot of the ball and he’s not going to slice a team open.

He’ll give everything always.

He's disposal by foot is much better than people appreciate

Go back two pages and there was at least half a dozen people saying he should be delisted.

The kid has played 13 games, and has shown plenty of snippets of elite defensive ability. He is never going to be a damaging/accumulating half back, but if he can lock down on small/mid forwards there is absolutely a long term role there for him.

I see plenty of upside in his potential.

Technique wise his disposal isn't bad. And he can sum things up fairly quickly.

Might take a bit longer to learn to find the ball but wouldn't be surprised if he adds that string to his bow. Was impressed at some of his kicking, clearly under a KISS set of instructions.

just speculation of course, but my guess that started with his father. In the VFL practice game he played as a 17 year old, Jackson literally tried to do nothing but stop his man with spoils and tackles.

Spot on King Corey - don’t need him to take on the 50 metre dart kick to start a switch. Just hit up the 20-25 kicks day in and day out, and participate in a few give and gos.
