That’s probably closer to the mark than most posts. Does he have some AFL qualities, absolutely.

We beat a very average side and I’m happy we did. But anyone who can’t find 7 players in our winning 23 that will be lucky to be on our list in 2026 isn’t trying.
He was good. You're only adding this context in Jackson's case because you bagged him out a couple of pages ago.

If Archer, Lmac, Corr and Fisher play like they have the last few weeks then our back 6 is starting to actually seem pretty solid.

Logue, Comben, Corr, Dawson - Dawson developing
Archer, Lmac, Fisher - Hardeman and Bergman developing

Is it just me or does he look like a completely different (better) player in the AFL versus VFL?

Classic example of a player who rises to the level.

Corr played pretty good on Langford and Maxy King. I think Archer will be a better player in the long run though.
Corr is a much better player than he gets credit for. He might not be there for a flag but I hope he wins a final with us.

Yeah ok, not sure you’re qualified to tell me what I’m thinking though.

Yes he was alright against last years wooden spooners. The side that has a total of 3 wins for the year. When you add that all up, it isn’t a huge stretch to suggest the opposition weren’t any good.
Looks like we have pick one .Plus McKercher, George, Goater & Hardeman

Plenty of options down back and will provide Archer with tough competition.

We will see aye

At the Optus open session the other day I said to him can you please get a win for us mate, especially against this lot.... He said we have a good feeling about this one.....

Then after the game as they were doing their victory celebrations with the crowd, I caught his attention as he ran past and said thanks Jackson.... He remembered me and said I told ya!!! Seems like a nice young guy....... with a hard edge.... a chip off the old block

I agree man. I was one of his biggest critics earlier on this year but now he isn't taking on their #1 forward their whole game he has came into his own. Happy for him

Limited? Maybe so. However, on a couple of occasions yesterday, Jackson looked consumate.

And he bleeds for this club. Look at his face, he despises losing. He absolutely has Shinboner in his blood.

I mean, for obvious reasons… But, you can be Arch’s son but not be Arch #2.
This is more than Arch #2.
This is not a case of an apple not falling far from the tree - this apple is still on that damn tree. Lawd, I wonder if he spends his nights in the granny flat throwing up thinking about the next day’s game and his opponent kicking 12 on him. Seems like he does.

Six things we learned: 'Rascal pack' can lift the Hawks to finals

3) An Archer in defence suits the Roos

Saturday's performance against West Coast could prove the breakout game that helps Jackson Archer become a regular fixture in the North Melbourne backline after two-and-a-half seasons. The son of champion backman Glenn Archer, the 21-year-old was terrific in a shutdown job on Liam Ryan, holding the dangerous Eagles forward to one disposal in the second quarter before the Eagles moved him for a burst onball. Archer played with desperation and commitment to his defensive role, with the in-form Ryan ending the game with just one mark, but he was also composed with 12 disposals. In a deserving road win full of spirit and determination, Archer played with those traits and looked as excited as any player when his first win as a Kangaroo was sealed. – Nathan Schmook

While still filling out, his little growth spurt after drafting him actually adds a bit of ceiling to him. He's ended up being 187?

But anyway, its the dog inside the kid and how hard he has worked to take him from an arguable undeserved draft pick to being 100% warranted first team player. If you were his dad, you couldn't be prouder. Hard works trumps all.

It’s uncanny to say considering the anxiety of our defensive 6 over the summer, but I’m kind of living the development of this back unit and can’t wait for us to play the following later in the year:

Archer Logue Corr
Fisher Comben Dawson (McDonald)

And then next year:

Archer Logue Corr
Dawson Comben Goater (Fisher)
