how can you score 107 and still lose by almost 50

we need a big rebounding and scoring centre
need heaps more depth at the guard spots
ninja has done fairly well in the last 2 but sutton has really gone down hill this year

agreed that we need to retain the 4 guys
schensher would be nice :D
and newley to fulfill his promise of playing for us

ballinger is elligible for citizenship mid season so will hopefully get a good guard/centre as a third import then

maher and davidson need to stay injury free cos with all 4 of those injury free and firing we will be hard to beat as long as the 5th guy isnt a massive hack

if you go by the points system of 68 per team and the current points for those 4
we have davidson(6) maher(5 lp) ballinger(10) and assuming hodge will be a 9 or 10
we have 37 points remaining to build a list

sutton only costs 1 point so might as well keep him
wouldnt mind getting burston at 6 points as a centre
dench and cooper at 7 is a bit steep for what they bring to the team
ng at 5 is fairly good

so if we keep sutton and ng we have 31 points to get a quality centre and guard
2 backup forwards and a backup centre
getting burston as either first choice or second choice centre would be good
cameron tragardh at 3 points is bound to go up but he would be handy
get newley back at 9 points

just throwing some ideas i have out there
feel free to rip it to shreds

This is what i would do:
Brett Maher - Retain
Brad Davidson - Retain
Julius Hodge - Retain
Adam Ballinger - Retain
David Cooper - Retain
Axel Dench - Cut
Lanard Copeland - Cut
Darren Ng - Retain
Matt Sutton - Cut
Jordan Dodman - Cut
Erick Burdon - Cut
Neil Mottram - Cut... unless we can't find anyone better.

And basically have the whole coaching staff go. If Adam wants to leave with Phil Smyth, then he can go ahead.

Care to apoligise Troy?

what do u think of him now?? :D:D

priority number 1 to retain hodge, ballinger, and ng.

julius hodge's stats this round:
33 ppg
7 rpg
4.5 apg
56.5% fg... should be a lock for player of the week!!

hodge's stats this season:
21 ppg
8 rpg
5 apg
48% fg

his stats minus the dragons and wildcats game, where he still wasn't used to the team's system:
26 ppg
9 rpg
5 apg
48% FG

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

yay we beat the injury-riddled(?) bullets!!

julius hodge impressive once again with a triple double - 25/13/14 (first time a 36er has had a triple double since 1994 by rob rose).

ballinger with 36/11.

ng with 20/9

davidson with 18 points and 7 assists.

retain these guys and maher for next season... they look the goods.

Phil Smyth = Keep
Neil Mottram = Poo.
Matt Sutton = Keep.
Everything else i agree on.

When he's hot, Brisbane won't lose.

What a man :thumbsu:

Brisbane won't lose? LMAO THEY LOST 2 ADELAIDE 2NITE!. LOL.

how can you call them injury riddled
we were missing maher they were missing mackinnon
same thing

87 point turn around in 2 weeks
Ballinger lit it up again from all angles
Ninja has been doing some real good work in Maher's absence
Jordy i thought did some good things
Julius is a gun, definitely need to keep him
Cooper is still caning on the defensive end and is taking some strong rebounds

almost beat Melbourne last week then slammed Brisbane this week
looking ok for next season now as long as we keep ballinger hodge davidson cooper (unless we get tragardh or someone equally as good ie. schensher :D) ng maher and the 2 young guys sutton and jordy and maybe burdon (cos they don't really cost anything)

Julius Hodge with some huge numbers. The finals are still very much alive.

Definently looking forward to next year, hopefully we can reatain Ballinger and Hodge.

What is incredible is that we scored 47 points in the 4th quarter.

And had our biggest winning margin in 7 years.

about 3 years ago i was really into the NBL but for the last couple of years i havent really cared much about it. Since the 36ers have signed hodge im starting to get back into it. ohh and im just wondering since hodge has been playing 4 the 36ers have the crowd numbers in the dome gone up?

Hodge with 35/9/5 tonight
the only reason he won't win POW is because we lost a game
and cos he won it last week which they don't like to give it twice in a row
Ballinger was a bit off tonight so it was left to Julius to keep us in it
Copeland got 20 points, not bad for a 45 year old or whatever he is

I think they have actually. People love watching Julius play.

Some Sixers fans might be saying "Willie who?"

Troy you got it spot on with Hodge. I'm not a big fan of the 6ers but I keep an eye out and watch them when I get the chance.. and I must say the J man is a gun.

36ers too inconsistent this season unfortunately... but Boti Nagy made a good comment in todays paper (and something anyone with a remote interest in the team would have known for ages) why take so damn long to cut Chappell? I guess there was no guarantee Hodge would have landed in Adelaide at that time but still...

Julius Hodge has been named player of the week. Thats back to back player of the week.

Once again, to those that doubted my comments about Hodge. Care to apologise?

Julius is easily the best import in the league.

In Adelaide's 113-104 win over Cairns tonight, Hodge finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists.

If Cairns lose their last 2 games, and Adelaide beat Singapore, then the Sixers make the finals.
