Players are the victims, always have been.

Yet they've paid the biggest a price.

It's supremely stuffed up.

Young players maybe. Not the older players who:

1) Knew what a normal and abnormal injection regime was.
2) Deliberately lied to ASADA testers when asked if they had anything to declare.

It really is quite surprising that all the players aren't asking for this information that Hal is seeking given the possible health impacts.

This is also the narrative that seems to be ignored by the afl, most of the media and the players association. Not to mention the Essendon supporters.

Didn't get a chance to watch this tonight but was Paul Marsh on the front foot about this issue?

I'd imagine the AFLPA must be livid about a former player being given a cocktail of drugs which he can't get proper information on and when he tries, gets cockblocked by a club. He must be furious that this is happening in the 21st century...surely, wouldn't he?
Paul marsh will only get on the front foot when his afl masters let him.

Harcourt "It's not like a drug, AOD is a fragment of growth hormone, completely natural so harmless"

How the f**k did this man become a doctor? Give too much growth hormone to someone you can give them diabetes, acromegaly, hypertension, cardiovascular disease. And fragments of things completely natural - well I could give you the BSE prion, that's natural (you'll get mad cow disease), or I could give you insulin, that's natural (oh you died of hypoglycaemia, that shouldn't have happened because its naturally made by the body)

Need to see if he is registered on AHPRA and lodge a formal complaint against him for peddling s**t that makes doctors seem dumber than we really are.

Willcourt, not Harcourt, 'hawk.

Harcourt's the bloke who got shut down after making the presentation seen tonight. You remember Harcourt? The AFL's CMO, I believe.

Spot on. Marsh is one of the biggest carnts in this whole affair. Just a mouthpiece of his AFL masters. Sickens me.

So just checked the AHPRA site, Willcourt (thanks AT) is an obstetrician who graduated med school in 1971. This would make him at least 68 - actually he didn't look too bad for his age - but he still should know better than to say what he said.

Hasn't done OB for a while I think.. Rather specialising in anti-aging.

An organisation NEVER washes itself of the permanent stain of a 4 Corners left hook.
You had to enjoy the little bit with Charters leaning on the horse rail with his tight white bonds tshirt and western suburbs jeans as they described him as a convicted scag importer.

And then him talking about how the good stuff he imported from China wasn't allowed to be used on humans.

Haha. Priceless.

Apparently not a very good obstetrician and so got into dodgy peptides / anti aging to make a crust...

Its the aminos working ;)

Just finished watching, haven't read the copious pages. Nothing really new came out of that. Things that piqued interest:

Robin Willcourt stating the drug of HIS muscular dystrophy patient was from New Mexico (not Mexico) - yet he struggled to get the description of said drug out. Like really struggled. This is also a guy who examined (ordered) blood tests of the players... and never actually saw them. Why he was given the time of day is beyond me.

The players still getting the "poor mislead players" treatment. While I feel for Hal (one of the youngest), they are all well educated on anti-doping and they did absolutely everything wrong. Still none of them accepting their part of this mess.

38 different substances.... did we know about all of them?

Was the Charter and Dank footage all old?

In the hierarchy of medical error, to order bloods and not check them is risky to reckless behaviour. Now he did claim that bloods were ordered without his signature, so why isn't he going after the perpetrator. Maybe his age is catching up to him?

And, while you're at the AHPRA, 'hawk, see what you can find out about the 5 practitioners who had to front that particular beak back in 2013, on matters various pertaining to the enterprise at the centre of tonight's program.

Meaning hypermed? For some reason the AHPRA website doesn't give a library of results for Victoria past 2010, although there are VCAT decisions they aren't limited to medical (masses of building planning issues...). Can you give me a search term to use?

Ben mcdevitt is a dog

The only mention of equine substances in that exchange was a ******* harmless polymer

Dodgy prick
How do you know it was a harmless polymer?

I'd say BM is a hell of a lot less of a dodgy prick than Golden Boy Hird and half the EFC board at the time.

Another beat up, standard procedure to ask for costs from both parties, only would have been despicable should essendon pursue them, which they didnt
Questions for you hirdylloydy1 :
1. Why did Essendon say there were no more documents in court
2. Why did Essendon provide Hal's team seven documents this week, post court
3. Why did Essendon lie in court about no more documents
4. Which idiot decided to pursue costs against Hal, when the total cost of this must be 7 or 8 mill by now?

AFL needs to step in and remove the board and administration of the entire joint and let it be rebuilt.

That was disgraceful. They do not care for the players, well maybe if they are stars, but if you are Hal Hunter you count for shit. Fancy going after him for costs.

And the other big thing was that the compounds charter got were not for human consumption, so whether banned or not it is disgusting.

This so many times....

Its amazing how light the penalties have been.
Essendon have not been charged/fined by the AFL for anything drug related, it was losing the drug related documentation in the shredder they were fined for.

Sorry, i asked for proof that we took banned drugs, not a court saying we think you did

I am sure 99% of people would acknowledge that transcript as proof the 34 are guilty, plus the fact they are sitting out the season as a result of suspensions handed down as punishment.

But hey, you keep deflecting with the notion that other teams were doping also, therefore EFC were hard done by or in your tiny mind, not guilty.

I've tried all the ones I can think of, 'hawk. Last year, all I could find was a statement from the AMA stating their concern at the seriousness of the allegations, and they'd written that around the time the 5 were sent up. The 5 were the first to do the perp walk in '13.

A quick semblance - https://ama.com.au/ausmed/doctors-investigated-over-afl-doping-scandal

I'd forgotten it was the ACC who made the referral.

And, oooh look, there's those IV drips, again.

And, AOD, of course.

Alright folks, a few reminders:

It's not the Bay. You don't need to call people dogs or scumbags or deadshits, whether that be McDevitt, Hunter, Heppell, another poster or anyone else.

Don't quote from team boards either. And leave the name calling at the door. Been a bit in either direction that I've seen, and it needs to stop.
