I do wonder if it is our game plan, or that because Dusty is on that side we naturally go there, or just the way the game worked out that way or maybe it’s natural for right footers to turn to that wing.

Because Graham and Bolton’s Heat maps are similar. Mansell is very much on the other flank and MJ very centralized.

Over the last 4 years, when kicking out from the Punt Road end, if we go long, we 95% of the time go to the MCC Members wing side, I know as I normally sit on the outer flank, and the only time it usually comes our way is for a fast play out to open space or from a backline switch.

I haven't noticed as much from the other end of the ground to be honest though.

That would put him on the other flank though wouldn't it? If he's on the other flank he can do the around the corner snap kicks, which he can't do on the right flank (looking at the goals).

Aha yes you are right
I got all turned around

Throw that theory away

Nup - I reckon your theory is still sound moose...

If he played more on the other flank defenders would be pressuring him towards the boundary thus putting him more on his left side. (unless it is a standing kick)
When he plays the right flank, in general play he get's pushed to his right, his stronger side and as he is such a great kick it works in his favour...

If anyone goes to a club qna at a members or sponsors day it would be a great question to ask imo

One of the big things I enjoyed from watching Dusty play the other night (apart from his prodigious skill and talent), was his body language, he appears to be enjoying playing footy and being with his team mates out on the field.
Agree with a few other posters in that Dusty will be eased into the season, initially playing forward till he builds up his match fitness, then as the season progresses, will play more midfield minutes as required depending on the match / game situation.
He is an absolute nightmare match up for opposition coaches when playing in the forward distributor / goal scoring / assist role.
If he has a good run with injury this season, I am confident if the club plays finals (I am sure internally they are aiming for a top 4 position), he will be primed for a big September, and we all know there is no better player in clutch moments in big finals than Dusty.
Yea I agree , all the pics and vision from training looks like Dusty’s very much invested and loving being with his teammates again , the fact he finished the game so strongly is a really positive sign for us

So on the one hand Champion Data come out this week and say that if Dusty continues the same form from R1 for the entire season he would be the No1 ranked general forward in the comp and be a lock for All Australian. Then there's this:

Seriously they have nfi what they're talking about lol

Round 1 you could see he was trying to play his usual game but things were not just happening as freakishly as normal due to his 2022 season being interrupted but slowly but surely it will get better every game and before he knows it he will have a game where he tears it apart and it will be back to business as usual.

Thought he was very good in the third quarter.
He, hopper and Cotchin all stood up and demanded the ball and slowed the game down.
I didn’t see anything in his running gate or any injury concern. I’d say the subbing was a pre planned idea.

I reckon he got a leg knock and they want to protect him.

I agree though, he was good without being great. It’s still there imo, he slaughtered Carlton one on one last week but was missing the final ball. This week quieter but thought his disposal was better.

last time Dusty had hamstring awareness, he didn't play for 10 weeks

Really hoping we are not seeing a repeat of how lids career came to an end ... after 250 games of being impervious to injury, a dodgy calf had him crawling to 280 odd games before reluctantly retiring

On the history of watching footy live I found teams always go mcc side of the ground.
