What's the harm in offering him 6? Or 7? Genuinely interested. Surely all the things like "what if he gets injured/doesn't play that long" arguments can still be applied to a 5 year deal? Would it throw our books out? Against our policy? Make it harder for us to land other targets?

Probably based on what we can afford as far as they can see into the future. Granted not many of our younger players look like they'll be megastars. Guess ya just have to be smart with the books. Anyways, if we haven't achieved anything with him on the team in the next 5 years I'd be more than happy for him to leave.

Don't agree with you on much, but this I do agree with. 2017-2020 is our 'window' if we're lucky and Jack can stay fit. No excuses, end of the year we need to bring in a couple of KPP. We need to start developing Rance's, Jack's and Astbury's replacements now and we need that second tall in the forward line/back-up ruck for Nank yesterday.
