West coast will be a flag threath next year for sure assuming no injuries (again).

Before the grand final yesterday a few of my friends wrote off the hawks but i and a couple of others told them that West coast are finals virgins and the lack of finals experience compare to the hawks will be the biggest factor.. And we were right.

West coast now with a Grand final heart break and still with a pretty young team will now have that as a vital experience in the big show.

Also hawks 3 flags against interstate teams is kind of a bonus for the hawks since MCG is their home ground and the GF is played there.

Imagine a GF at the minor premiers home ground..... Vicctorians will not like it when interstate teams dominate but its technically the fairest.

The other thing that has really benefitted the Hawks is free agency. It came in right when the team was on the rise, and free agency was a free ticket for any good player in a crap club who wanted to finish off in a premiership. So Burgoyne, Lake, Hale, McEvoy, Frawley, etc all get a free ride and join the same club. Free agency was poorly thought out and until they change it the clubs at the top right now can keep regenerating their lists for nothing.
You do realise of all those players you mentioned Frawley is the only free agent acquisition

and you guys lost Franklin to FA so would say Hawks have lost more then they have received through FA.

It's the cheap trades that have gone through more then FA some very savvy trading and other teams bending over at the trade table more then FA.

Went to the GF yesterday (Q17 row w) love going to the GF's

I saw a team capable of winning 4 in a row.
They kick and handball to a target 9/10. And more importantly they nail crunch goals.
We don't and we haven't for years. BTW they are the oldest side to win a flag.

They are a power house club. What a very clever PR by their coach and captain to mention the 72,000 members.

So you think Gaff has not had a consistent year or is it that you don't think he is a quality player
We are going around in circles, I said a successful team needs at least 8 quality players that can play consistently perform well to go through the middle. WC don't have them yet.
With the addition of Treloar we have.

Why? Who is over-rated?

Sidebottom Crisp, sometimes Swan and Pendles depending on who you ask.

Our midfield is not even in the best 12 in the AFL, yet most Collingwood fans say it's full of A grade superstars (Swan Pendles Sidebottom) and up and coming superstars (Crisp Adams)

Don't discount good season from Madten and Yeo because they were poor on the day.

Still no why but if that is all you have, I disagree.
Crisp, Adams, De Goey, Greenwood have shown plenty, then add Treloar it is looking good.
Pendlebury was obviously injured for a large part of the year but name me one club that wouldn't have him amongst the best mids. Swan delivered plenty this year as did Sidebottom.
Broomhead was doing very well prior to his injury and I am sure that there will be a place for Macaffer and possibly a Blair, Williams and even Langdon.
Shame you put down this group of players half of which have only played together for one year.

I'm not putting them down, just saying Collingwood fans rate them as a group consistently better than their actual performances.

Swan had a good year but many fans forget that his defensive efforts are horrible (which is 50% of any players game) and his kicking is often very poor. He wins lots of awards because it's a natural human reaction to praise offensive traits much higher than defensive ones, even when they're equally as important.

If our midfield is as good as you say we should have no problem walking into the top 4 next year when we add yet another A grade superstar in Treloar.

Fremantle might be the best chance to end their reign.

Rossco is going to co flat out this trade period, already has Bennell and McCarthy is still a big chance.

Yeah but whilst Freo has Rossy.....they're no chance!
Bennell and McCarthy don't replace McPharlin and maybe Pav.

What so you really think that a young team that finished second who had its two first choice KPD out will be no good next year? That is just stupid
You really don't get it, didn't say that at all. Said they need to have more options than they have now!!!!

Pav's been cooked for 3 years, hasn't had a real influence for years now, as good as we was before that, and similar with McPharlin.

Fremantle will probably win the minor premiership again next year, they just know how to win games, but yeah the finals are their problem.
