Or at least hasn't had a dedicated thread, given his imminent arrival. Other than reactive comments about the alleged contract figures and length, he hasn't had a lot of decent discussion about him here.

Higgins is skilled which makes up for his leg speed. Can play multiple roles, not bad overhead, can kick goals and from long range too.

Probably sounds stupid but I looked at how Dal Santo improved the bottom 6. Higgins does too and as he can play multiple roles may also release someone to do damage.

e.g. Dal Santo >>>> Sierakowski, Jacobs, McKenzie.

Great news? I see it as a big slap in Greenwood's face that could see him walk from the club. Offering an injury prone footballer four years is stupid. And don't get me started on the $400k.

I'm coming around to the decision of recruiting Waite but the reported Higgins deal of 400 K for 4 years really concerns me

Eligible and now official apparently.

UPDATE OCTOBER 3
Shaun Higgins has officially joined North Melbourne after the Western Bulldogs decided against matching the Kangaroos' offer for the restricted free agent on Friday.

The Bulldogs are eligible for a second-round comepnsation draft pick for losing Higgins.

Edit: Why da fack did this auto post to my facebook?

AFL has advised WBulldogs that due to NMelb contract amount offer to SHiggins & player's age, club will be eligible for r2 compensation pick
do you reckon if on the trade table, the dogs would have got a round 2 pick for Higgins? we may have done them a favour. Well those doggies do need some favours.:) welcome aboard Shaun.

This is a good move, talented player often let down by his body, I'd back Saunders to get the best out of him!
Waite mentioned our great fitness staff in his presser. I'm sure this was a factor in Higgins wanting to come over as well.

That would be a huge selling point for a pair of players with soft tissue history! You could say both those players careers depend on how their body stands up, so why wouldn't you go to the best in the league in that regard.
