Won’t go to the preseason draft. The players that have recently are a different case because Gold Coast and GWS always have players leaving and end up with having too many picks year after year and can’t use them all. Also those using Houli as an example need to remember that back then you couldn’t trade future picks. If you could of, a trade would of got done.

fu** every other club in the league. they are all fu**en minnow peasants in comparison to the mighty tigs. they don't even deserve an opinion on anything. fu** em all. death be to the AFL. i hate every other club. burn in all motherf***ers burn in hell

Drafted a pick 20, few years of development, has shown plenty of signs of being an elite contested mark who can play forward and in the ruck.

Why on earth would he be worth a second? At minimum he is worth a mid to late first.
Well as it stands. The club he wants to go too hasn't got a pick within that range. Now its very unlikely they will bendover backwards to achieve what you or we expect what cj is worth considering the ace in the pack they have and thats the psd.
I'm quite happy if they do the right thing and at least give us pick 20 or a future 2nd.
But i wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

Just remember what comes around will eventually come around to you remember the name Thomas in couple of years don't be surprised will be in a yellow and black jumper.
I have no doubt you’re an astute judge, but Daisy Thomas will be riddled with Arthritis by then.

Im sure he’ll still look good in yellow and black though.

All true and if he'd played 29 games and/or in one of the flags pick 20 would probably be too thin. You'd be looking at 12-16 areas.

As it stands he's only played 9 games, and had a significant discipline issue too. I reckon our future second works best for both lists.

We're finishing bottom eight next year.
Future 2nd works for me.

Plenty of commentary suggesting this however he’s stats show he had 13 hit outs in total for the year and averaged less disposals (in WAFL) than Nank did in the AFL.
Not to mention.Parker was "ripping it up in the wafl before he come to us.
Looked like just a so so player when he did play for us.
Think Schlong is just all hype and thats it otherwise the cats wouldn't have thrown him away.

This is simply not happening.
Yes, the PSD doesn't get used all that often, but in the context of non-best 22 players who are out of contract and wanting to leave for the bottom-placed club, it absolutely does play a factor. I highly doubt CJ cares that much about how he gets there, the same way Hately didn't care how he got to Adelaide.

Pick 20 is absolutely not happening. North won't be giving up any first or second rounders for a player they can easily get for free.

Finally, someone who gets it..

Yes it seems we have another one of those accounts, joined 5 days ago lol.

At least Neale doesn't blindly bomb it forward to packs anywhere near as much as Mitchell.
Mitchell also loves statpadding his uncontested possessions, even though he's largely ineffective with them.

Why isn't there more talk of us trading one of our top picks for Tom Mitchell? He wants out of the Hawks, we need inside midfielders and we have the draft picks to make it happen.

Tom Mitchell + Daniel Talia. Make it happen.

So Mitchell is an ineffective, uncontested stat padder yet you want “us” to trade one of our top picks for him🙄

To me this is the key issue. We could offer him first 22 spot in Rd1 given Noble wants to play two rucks and Callum is a better option than Campbell or Xerri. Richmond couldn't with two premiership rucks on board already.

Correct. He's just simply not best 22 combined with a few other issues he just hasn't and wasn't going to get games. I really don't understand the angst of our fans over this. He was effectively our Lynch back up and he has 4 more years left.

We're just reverting back to what this forum looked like in 2016.

So much angst over this guy. Would take 38 and run if we didn't have a million picks. :tearsofjoy:
We should be viewing 38 as valuable, not useless.
Bulldogs 17 is with 1025 points
Pick 38 (465) + Pick 28 (677) = 1142 points. To sweeten the deal this year with more points we could even throw in pick 40 (429) for their future second.

38+28 for 17 or 38+28+40 for 17 + future second

Hit the draft with 7, 15, 17, 26, 44 + future second 2022

Agreed. Considering their offer to him I'd push for a future 2nd first but if push came to shove you take 38. He's not worth 20 imo he's just not that good apart from that one game on that spud Adelaide bloke.

I dont think Nth will do this - what is their history of doing this previously? They have spent the better part of 5 years trying to convince players that they should come to North - now that they are starting to get some decent traction of quality young players WANTING to come over, why would they be in a hurry to make his incoming a total shitshow? Every player which has been forced down that path has openly talked about how stressful and uncomfortable it was - you also get 2 month of being in limbo where it is openly known that the only reason you are in that place is because u knifed your former team in the back when requesting an exit. The "Pre-season" draft path can only come with the endorsement of the player - in the meantime we can still re-sign them & convince them its their best path - "if they valued you like they suggest, why are they valuing you at pick 50?" etc

I think a deal will be worked out and it will be relatively fair. CCJ is worth their 2nd rounder this year, even if we needed to add a pick swap elsewhere. With us having so many picks this year, the club will likely settle on a future second, although i think that is risky as i could see Nth jumping several spots next year, they are getting decent
