Why does everybody have to be a superstar?
It's such a stupid comment, we don't need a team of superstars, we need a group of solid, reliable players who will compete week in week out, can handle the pressure when applied and who work well as a unit. The actual superstars like Sheezel, LDU, Wardlaw and Larkey will add the gravy.
As for Dawson, I thought he was pretty good in the games he played last season and has look very solid in the few VFL games I've watched this season, it would be remiss of Clarko/Ratten not to give him a run at some stage this season.
I'd take it further and question anyone who says "it's just the midseason draft".
Or "it's just a rookie spot".
Or "it's just Category B, who cares?"
These are all legitimate means to find talent that clubs have used successfully. Every opportunity is gold and should be explored - you only have to get 1 shot right to justify the recruitment legwork.
