Let's be realistic, can see all those players with lines through them not on our list in 2 years time.

Ryan gets off lightly as we signed him for 3.

We simply don't know ahead of time. I would wager that some(at least 1) of the ones you have earmarked for the abbatoir will survive, if not thrive at certain points in the future.

I don't see the purpose in playing him in the VFL. He is far more valuable playing seniors especially if we have a few young key forwards also playing.
Peak Lynch? no question. not 2 season injury f***d 32 year old. turning circle of the titanic. Good teaching? Poor role model?

Gunna take a miracle to change RFC selection philosophy. Couldn't even have Jack Graham in the VFL. I expect Lynch to play until he retires hurt.

Tipping Round 8. Give the new fitness regime credit.

Then why keep him on the list at all? He isnt playing VFL and to think he should is just nonsense.

At this point in time Lynch even coming of two seasons destroyed by injuries is so far in front of any of the other tall forwards we have it is not funny.
He is the only truly experienced kpd we have.
We need his know how just like we still need Prestia,s know how.
If they stay fit they will make decent contributions and our kids will learn from them.

This bloke will be with us for not just 2025 but id wager 2026 because even injured he is one of the best key options in the comp to teach the kids.

Play a three tall forward line and let the kids learn from him ffs.
By 2028 at least three of the young tall forwards we have need to be around 40 or 50 games and we dont need em being belted up everyweek.
We could do a NM delist him and then go out and get a 32 yr old like Darling in to help in the experience stakes.
At the start of Hardwicks reign what did we do Brad Miller and Troy Chaplin ring any bells.
Neither were long term solutions but they gave our kids time.
You need good experienced players in your team. We cannot play 22 kids they need to learn from someone.

We cannot plan for injuries but when Lynch is fit he plays just fine in fact we struggle when he is not there. Atm we have no need to bring in an older player like Darling.
We have a better player and a champion of the game in Lynch. Hope we utilise him while we can.

Just think its 2010 2011 and we are building toward 2017.

I reckon part of our problem has been keeping our injured top liners out of competitive match scenarios and then throwing them straight into the heat of AFL after long layoffs. Not a doctor but surely giving a player like Lynch managed minutes at VFL level to get a proper working over and some confidence wouldn't be a bad idea?
If the reason against it is 'well, he's Tom Lynch/Prestia/Gibcus he doesn't play VFL' which it appears it has been, then we're arrogant idiots.
I'm not questioning the logic of playing him in the VFL, I'm just saying it's not going to happen.

It's like getting Pearl Jam to play their Melbourne gigs at the Corner Hotel rather than Marvel Stadium.

Yeah I get it, it'd make headlines but fmd, we've got a few chronically injured blokes who've repeatedly broken down again as soon as they've played AFL, can't we swallow our pride for the benefit of the health of the players? If you're not a superstar you get managed minutes in the VFL first are superstars biologically different?

I think it's as much about providing the required structure as anything DW. A bloke like Lynch is just so important to enabling the forward line structure that the coaches want, even if he's not at his fittest or best, and especially early in the season. He just carries so much footy IQ on his shoulders that he gets all those other newer blokes moving to the right places. So they'll play him on one leg if required, even if it makes us supporters cringe a bit at the risk.
