from my understanding injuries and consistency in games are the two biggest short comings for ADW
Hopefully hes one where he benefits from a professional program endurance/aerobic wise

Also a bit of a positive we see these type of guys drafted where he has been, even maybe more so as a rookie. Sortve has 1 year to show his ability to want to work and not rely on just his talent

Also didnt improve off last year which is a big knock but he was very good last year and his solid frame/earlier development maybe held him in a good position last season

Good to see Shiel invested, he probably has every right not to be

'You might be thrown around abit' they wont be happy with that
He has to stay invested to keep his chances of playing further alive.

Invested in development of youth

I dont think that really determines him getting a game but more so does the direction of the club this year and with the way the Stringer, Weideman, Kelly, Lav, Heppell, Baldwin have been handled along with the 3 year term phrased by the club, focus on draft and not bringing anyone in, id suggest hes in an uphill battle to start ahead of Tsatas or Hobbs

Was not talking about getting a game. Was talking about his future beyond 2025.
If he checks out and plays for himself in the VFL then someone will pick him up but it is unlikely to be anything special.
If he plays good footy and is engaged in the process then clubs are going to say this guy can add something.

Years are not the point.
It will be more about maybe getting to a club of his choice who see him as an asset and getting two years or just getting 1 season somewhere or even my pet hate , selected as a rookie (worst case scenario and probably unlikely).

I dont think challenging clubs are going to care or really know what hes doing at training with 1st year kids

Gun but not the level of player I'm talking about. Martin is our 2nd best player though, we need better.

He had 27 touches and 5 goals. Followed it up with a few 20 touch games. Kicked goals in 3 of his first 4 games (on an awful team)

can’t start much better then that.

Martin’s one of if not the best wing in the comp. (Who we played out of position much of last year cause Essington) you can’t really get players much better at what Martin does then Martin.

I understand the impulse to want an elite player at a more valuable position. But it’s not only elite talent that wins finals. It’s a good deep balanced fit list.
