Player Watch #44 Seth Campbell

Needs a spell big time. Not doing anywhere near enough to justify a spot. Coultard, Banks and Smith need more of a go.

Clarke and MRioli are the longer term solutiosn to our high half forward roles imo. Streets ahead of Campbell, Sonsie and Cumberland.

Maybe if Campbell goes back to the VFL at least he'll get some development. Christ knows he's not getting it from our AFL coaches.

4 meagre touches @ 25% DE. He had 1 effective handball that went maybe 3m playing 104/124 minutes gametime. I've liked a lot of his games this year. He had a long lean patch then missed 1 game through injury came back played well then has been downwards ever since.

He started off great kicking 3 goals in first 2 games.... has since dried up to 4 goals from next 13 games. There's no justifiable reason for him to have his magnet glued. He needs to spend the next month in the magoos cos he is stagnating bad and can't let his mindset get complacent enough to think serving up slop doesn't effect his spot in the team. His direct opponents are carving us up too. MUST BE DROPPED ON THE BACK OF TONIGHT'S DISMAL OUTPUT!!!!!

Knackered.

Needs a spell for a month in the VFL to find the footy again and refresh.

Remember he missed his first year with injury.

Unless the selectors just think he will be a good player and what to give him continuity in the role, especially as it is costing us precisely nothing to do so. He is a fantastic mover and will likely benefit hugely from us fielding a stronger team. In a normal world he is probably in and out of the team and playing sub quite a lot, but others who might be in the role have been injured, Rioli Jnr, Clarke, Graham to name 3.

Looks really classy at times but just losses too many contests. Too easily moved off the ball and out pointed by his opponent. He goes in hard but doesn't ever actually gain possession.
Also goes too hard when closing down opponents when they’ve got the ball. Players were just dummying around him all night

They do that to most of our players - clearly they're not watching their opponents hips or being taught to...the older players should already know this anyway...

Yeah looks a player for the future.

As a player of the current he looks rooted. Give him a spell in the magoos midfield
Tends to happen a fair bit with young players who can play early in the season
Don’t have the body to put together full a season and probably mentally taxing without the wins either

Just something we will need to persevere with over the next few seasons with these young players
