More likely .... if the kid's last name was Nixon, Nance, Nevins or anything other than Naish, most wouldn't hold the opinions they do of the young guy.
The appeal is simply the fact he is a 'father-son'.

He averaged 22 touches at champs vs the best kids in the country as well as having the most meters gained and most meters gained per possession.

Dogs were contemplating him at 16. He would have gone top 30 maybe top 25 without a name. And as Heisenberg said f/s and academy players have a history in last 3 season of being bid on after their expected draft range.

He has weaknesses with contested ball but he has talent and we are lucky to get him at 34.

Again, according to the draft calculator, the selection was worth roughly pick 47. He's some some flaws but the tigers took a punt.

To put things in perspective, Menadue was a higher pick, so was McIntosh. I think Naish is a better prospect than them at the same age.

People often say pick best available early then draft for needs late, but it's risky trying to be too clever with pick 53 in a weak draft. We know the saints rated him higher and I reckon most clubs would have put in a bid by pick 53. So clearly clubs rate him higher than you.

I think he might take McIntosh's job as he doesn't really use his height and Naish would provide better run and kicking skills.
Mcintosh is hard as nails and that's why he plays regularly. Naish is totally different. Maca is underrated and will remain a regular in the team.

Bump(The forgotten one).

Not really forgotten, I don’t expect to see him in the seniors much this year or next.
Long term play with him.

Don't remember seeing him last weekend v Boxhill I don't think he played or if he did he was very quiet

You're right, he was there but didn't play. I saw him in the huddle with Tiger non-playing gear...

Not really expecting much from him.
Minimal size like Menadue and Cellis when they arrived, are neither have stamped their claim in 3 years, so I don't expect a lot from him early doors.

He’s light years away. Needs to go to the same gym as Rancey ;) and take Menadue and CEllis with him. :moustache:
The only time I saw him live was up here on the GC when he played in the U18s as an underager. Seemed a bit of a plodder. Looked to be plodding a bit today as well. He made the AIS though, must have some serious skills. Look forward to seeing him develop. Not sure putting him with CEllis is the right move.
Perhaps sprints with Menadue.
