Mod Notice

The level of vitriol and frankly toxic culture in this thread is getting out of hand. As such, the thread will be monitored actively for posters who drag down the quality of posting for all others, and they will have their access to the thread removed.

Further, reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed. Much like other tropes of that nature, they serves as a conversational barrier and fall-back point for people to simply sling mud. That's unacceptable.

Thanks.

What happened the last time there was a 14 point lead. 12 days before voting no less.

Has anyone on this thread intimated that they are the least bit interested in your views??

Your link states “According to the poll, Clinton has support of 90% of likely Democratic voters.”

And???? In a one horse race, you’d hope it was 100%.

I'd almost like to see the inauguration.

Repeat after me.

I solemnly swear.
I sol...I... sol...you know...the thing
Irony .... back in his night club days Trump’s acquaintances gave him the nickname of Sol. When he arrived they would greet him with a raised arm and “Ah ... Sol!”

No one is sure if he has picked up on it to this day. He was just happy to be ‘accepted’ by the in crowd.

Fascinating.

So, not that I expect any of you to self reflect for even a minute, but do any of you consider the actions of the FBI in the Flynn case in any way acceptable? Or do you perhaps think that Shifty literally being told by CEO of Crowd strike they couldn't even confirm the Russians hacked the DNC servers let alone any collusion went on national TV days later to "confirm" they had ample evidence is a responsible way to conduct yourself in public office?

You know, COVID-19 may be a Chicom operation in coordination with the DNCCP to overthrow Trump, honestly it's consistent with their actions to date it'd only be a slight step further than their already known actions.
I have concluded that COVID-19 is actually a Madagascan ploy to inflict their herbal tea concoction on the world. It's all very confusing though. I'm at the point where I'm soaking my clothes in iced tea to get rid of stains and pouring myself a bleach on ice for an afternoon cool me down.

Received an email on this today.

You do realise that hoping something will happen is not the same as that thing actually happening?

Triggered by a prediction. FMD.

At least he didn't say Biden will win if 300k people die.

Apparently Chump is now saying he expects "95,000 or more" deaths in the US from Covid19.
Interesting how he's trying to gradually reset the expectations. Couldn't quite bring himself to say 100,000, though.
Looks like he'll be at 200,000 by some time in July. Then, what, 300,000 by November?

I very much doubt it. Those numbers and worse are what we would've seen if the Democrats had been in control however. There is no way they would've closed the borders as early for instance.

Never a word of what the Dems approach would have been.

Just Trump.

Both left and right run countries / states have been hit hard by this. Both sides are starting to ease restrictions but it only matters who is saying it whether it is good or bad thing

The opening of the economies of the world is just a perfect stick to whack people with their moral superiority.

I live in an electorate that voted 70% Labor in a Tory landslide Very few people are following the lockdown. My only trip out today to run was almost impossible. Streets as busy as always. Very much doubt this is just Tories out and about.

More likely a lot of Chris Cuomo types who travel to the Hamptons when they have the virus and pretend they are locked up in their basement. Then have the gaul to call people in the park fools.

As far as the US is concerned, this didn't help.

The worst hit city in the US had a pretty large proportion of those 430,000 people fly in from China. Where they were greeted with comments like this from the NY city health commissioner (27/1 - NY Times) .....

Dr. Barbot said that those who have recently traveled from Wuhan are not being urged to self-quarantine or avoid large public gatherings.

“We are very clear: We wish New Yorkers a Happy Lunar New Year and we encourage people to spend time with their families and go about their celebration,” Dr. Barbot said.

There is no travel ban, there are only restrictions, and thousands have come to USA from China since then. It's possible Trump's racism might have worked to protect Americans if he then also took prudent measures to curb the virus which had already crossed the border. But that hasn't been the case.

All hindsight. Nothing on how a non racist policy would have lessened the spread

There's no hindsight required for good pandemic policy, but even if there was, America had that benefit, by watching the mistakes made by Iran, Italy and others that experienced outbreaks before they did.

The main issue with those countries was their hospital systems collapsed. This was the main goal. Increasing ICU capacity etc. All countries after Italy etc achieved this. US, UK have been hit hard but they haven't been overrun.

I woke up and couldn't sleep, checked the US death toll... about to crack 80k

Then I realised the 1,335,668 includes Katie Miller, Trump's valet, Trump's food server, Ivanka's personal assistant... then I felt good.

I think you might be referring to my post above. I didn’t say anything about Biden winning at that number — anything’s possible in that electoral system. My comment was a calm speculation about where the number might be at that point, given:
- current daily numbers
- New York tailing off over the next few weeks
- but the rest of the country coming out of restrictions and firing up a new wave of infections
The real driver of this situation will be Trump’s sabotage of the nationwide testing capability — a cynical calculation to keep recorded numbers down, but which will undoubtedly be counterproductive when combined with his push to get people back in to the streets.

Nah, that wasn’t DJT.

Add in Cuomo’s screw up with nursing homes and you soon see it isn’t all the bad orange man’s fault.
