Has the BF shadenfreude meter peaked at a new high?

Schadenfreude is pretty high here, but I want to see him jailed, thrashed in the election, or both. Which aren't happening imminently. I think he'll get a suspended sentence or whatever they do over there.

Calling the presiding judge 'corrupt' countless times might not help when it comes to sentencing. 4 years max for these type of offences apparently so given the number, some jail time should be mandatory in this particular case plus max fines.

It will be interesting to see how many other convictions he has by the time the appeal for this one is finalised. Fair chance the feral old campaigner will be dead by then anyway.

He called the judge a crook. The smart move is to give him something right in the middle of the penalties. Which presumably is more than one year which I think is the trigger for "high crimes and misdemeanors" (or it was when Clinton was impeached - but maybe Republicans think differerntly now).

Have been guilty of doing my share of lazy cutting and pasting my share of funny memes and comments from social media on various issues.

But this occasion - the verdict and the reprehensible response from the man who is still a front runner for becoming the leader of the most powerful western economy and the country Australia has tied its future international strategic interests for decades to come - seems to me to not be a time for jokes.

Reckon the US is at an important cross roads in their history now and in the lead up to November elections, starting with the sentence handed to Trump - not just for his 34 convictions but for his utter contempt for the US judicial system.

Not really. Every person I've heard speak about it this morning (ABC news was basically running it wall to wall) has said that the likelihood of jail time is extremely low, given that it is a first offence and, in the grand scheme of things, the funds that were concealed/misappropriated, were quite small.

That result was always going to happen in New York, he knew that too, they hate him there, but what it will do is now make him a certainty for November, with appeals etc the election will be well and truly over. He will win in a landslide. He's not going to jail and the end of the world will not occur under his watch as mad Bob predicts.
Delicious tears from MAGA
.l. he said New York LOVES him because of Trump Real Estate which he said made NY. He spent most of his life in NY. Why would they hate him? Funny, how things can get twisted to suit agendas. A guilty verdict on all 34 counts and not one dissenting juror.

MAGAS know he is guilty, but they don’t care . They just want him to get away with it. It’s so telling.

Looks like Trump's found himself a lawyer that actually wants to practice law after his case is over. Per the Graund.
Todd Blanche, the lead lawyer on Trump’s team, sat down with Jesse Watters on Fox News for a post-verdict interview.

The lawyer said he was unhappy with the rulings but that he wasn’t “going to criticize the judge right now”.
