Didn’t he donate to the democrats?

Regardless him being “registered” as a Republican hardly proves anything… he couldn’t have done that for show?

That is what is known so far. Donating $15 when he was 17 at school to a Democrat party cause.

Dad registered Republican, mum registered Democrat.

Thomas Matthew Crooks registered to vote in Republican primaries.

He was a known gun nut and bullied at school.

My money is on his motives not being political just someone mentally disturbed angry at the world, after attention/notoriety, angry a girl turned him down etc.

Who knows. Really non issue. 1 person isn’t a face for all democrats or republicans

Surprised they havent found extensive radicalization online yet.

That's a key factor in most recent massacres etc (from the Islamist variety to the Nazi types)

the right now focusing their unhinged attention on the secret service ..... and not so much on the shooter

i wonder why
It’s pretty crazy how this was allowed to happen.

People literally screamed to security their was someone on the roof (this is filmed)

How the nearest building wasn’t secured is mind boggling

Amazingly lax security for any former/president let alone the most hated ever.

Thought it was pretty good security to be honest. If the objective was to pump up Trump’s tires and kill a wannabe assassin, Ferraris and cigars all round.

The country is utterly ****ed. They've all but decided that thousands of murdered children annually is just 'a fair price to pay for (the freedom of their representatives to get big paychecks from the NRA)'

Watched a clip of the very popular streamer Asmongold in response to yesterday and he literally said all gun deaths were "worth it" if it meant the right to self defense.

He also said gun violence is worse in America due to 'multiculturalism' and that other nations have less of it because they are 'more homogenous'.

Any pushback against such arguments garner accusations of being "emotional".

There is just no way through to them.

But he was when the right assumed he was a democrat.

Exactly, Trump supporters were all fapping that all their Christmas’s had come at once:

  • attempted assassination of their hero, now martyr x10000
  • fuels narrative of Trump taking on the “deep state” and “they” want him gone
  • Could then justify any draconian measures Trump wants to implement in the name of “security”

But shooter isn’t part of any group they hate and doesn’t seem to be done for any ideological reason. It’s kind of ruined their fantasies of what they want to believe being true.

So they have to invent new things to be angry about:

- it’s angry Democrat rhetoric that caused this (somehow encouraged a loner gun nut who doesn’t seek political to do this)

- female security staff, damn democrats

- Various unconnected conspiracy theories which thankfully aren’t gaining too much traction saying Jews/chinese behind it etc

Was just thinking this, might have had little to do with politics just someone pissed at everything and wanted to go out making a name for themselves.

Unfortunately for him he will go down in history as an awful shot that only succeeded in killing an innocent bystander and likely making Trump's win easier.

I think businesses have shown on plenty of occasions that trickle-down economics isn't a thing and the extra cash ends up in the hands of the already wealthy. Whether that be share buybacks or higher wages for top-management.

Most larger businesses take the approach of trying to squeeze greater and greater profit from the staff they already have instead of employing drastically more staff. They might invest in automation to keep the staff costs down with the view that in the long run it'll stop them having to employ more people.

Employing more staff is usually further down the chain after they've squeezed every ounce of productivity from a staff member. Even in the US where the minimum wages and accompanying entitlements are often much lower than ours.

I'm not sure how else you intended people to interpret this. If the businesses were leaving due to high taxes, then that would be corporate taxes, not personal ones.

If you were trying to say that personal tax cuts put more money in the hands of poorer people, who'd then spend that money on goods and services at small businesses, then that's a different thing to how I would interpret what you wrote above.
Pretty sure all the businesses that have left America are chasing 3rd world labour

Surely the female security staff thing is simply the fact that Trump can’t grab male security by the pussy?

Action was taken:

Obama did what he could with a Republican controlled House (bearing in mind the 2A also exists so his hands were also tied Constitutionally).

He then lost the Senate in the 2014 midterms, and was a lame duck President thereafter.

2,500 kids murdered by guns every year and nothing done.

Madness.
Whenever you see any data anomaly in 2020 and 2021, you have to think pandemic first.

Saw this on reddit … looks like both teleprompters are intact. So either was a bullet that nicked him or happened when he was tackled by SS

If you look at so many shootings/assasination attempts in the past, sure some are done along ideological lines but many aren’t.

We on here and the media are politically engaged to varying degrees so in our minds it’s hard to think of people on fringes of society who don’t really have any strong feelings about politics, especially someone who is 20 and a loner who has been bullied all their lives.

Now some of them get politically engaged for better or worse, but many others just get angry at the world at large.
