Rank and file are enlistees, and like people who want to be cops can sometimes be pro-authoritarian bent. But there are some patriotic types who understand what democracy is. There have been veteran groups making comments, but for both sides.
General staff are fairly pragmatic types you'd think, less likely to obey illegal or outrageous orders. Problem is how many Flynn's are out there? Any who were flipped or compromised? Weren't there questions about Flynn's general brother about his action or non-action on 1/6?

IMHO the biggest threat to US democracy and therefore global security, is not the possibility of a second Trump Presidency but from the fact that the next psychopathic megalomaniac to seek the US Presidency will learn from Trump's mistakes and not be nearly as transparently idiotic in how they seek power and implement their objectives.

Right now the person who best fits that descriptor is the person who would be Vice-President and a coronary occlusion away from becoming President should Trump win in the November ballot. But mark my words, there will be others.

Just watched a vid showing thousands of Trump supporters stranded in the desert after Trump didn't organise busses from the private event property to their cars parked 2 hours walk away.

Hilariously the supporters seemed to want to think it was some sort of left wing conspiracy to provoke them into rioting??

Exactly- because in the end, trump is a buffoon whose only real interest is in anarchy and grifting. There will be smarter and more ideologically-driven ones to follow him who will be more dangerous.
