Every now and then I realize the people campaigning for the biggest office in the world present themselves like toddlers squabbling - you are, no you are.

It’s certainly a sorry state of affairs. But the Democrats have come to understand that people simply aren’t listening to the message that he represents a danger to democracy and many of the rights they take for granted. Trump looks too silly, says funny things, can’t be taken seriously etc. So making fun of him is working better, turning his strengths back on him. And they are responding by getting weirder and weirder, which only reinforces their point. It’s a successful strategy.

Hopefully once politics moves beyond Trump, things can go back to normal.
