The whole timing of everything was a masterstroke by the Dems.
That implies that it was planned. I don't think it was. The plan was for Biden to run until that disastrous debate and when Trump survived an assination attempt. After that it meant Biden was no chance of winning.

There is no doubt that replacing Biden has put a major spanner in the works for Trump and provided circuit breaker for the Dems.

The best analogy I came across is that Trump was like a dog chasing a car. With attacking Biden and how he was unfit to run he got what he wanted, but now doesn't know what to do with it.

I saw a video today where Trump proposed that policy.

However...

In politics, sometimes you gotta fall into line or neutralise an opponent's policy, or line of attack. If both sides adopt the same policy, the outcome is neutral, politically. That's just politics, Donald.

Having said that, it's a super minor policy. It wouldn't move the needle for either candidate. My guess is that Kamala adopted it just to p!ss him off. And it worked, LOL!

It’s a pretty stupid policy - analysis suggests it could see $150-250 billion in taxes not being collected, so it’s a pretty enormous tax cut.

A better option would be policy to reduce the need for tipping (ie decent pay for tipped workers).

Agreed. The US tipping culture is ludicrous.

Announcing it straight after the RNC was perfection. Took all the steam out of Trump's sails.

Over 10 years. By comparison Trump's cut to taxes for the wealthy was estimated to cost, on a gross basis, $2.3 trillion over 10 years.

I love the bit about how the creation of a fake image is election interference.

Yes? That's also dumb, albeit something I'd be surprised the Democrats adopt as a policy of their own.

Bit late to adopt it as a policy since it's something already implemented by Trump, is it not?

Well take on support for it, but I didn’t phrase that well (I probably shouldn’t post when I’ve only just gotten up).

Point is it isn’t oneupmanship, I’m obviously not defending the Trump policy.

Donny having a massive meltdown because he reckons Kamala has stolen his No Tax on Tips policy. I didn’t know he’d announced any policies between his whining and disgusting name calling.
Not sure I get the play from Harris. It's a terrible idea that is easily exploitable and opens up insane money laundering avenues.

Far more practical to just lower the tax rate on low-medium income earners.

"This constant lying is not aimed at making the people believe a lie, but at ensuring that no one believes anything anymore.
A people that can no longer distinguish between truth and lies cannot distinguish between right and wrong.
And such a people, deprived of the power to think and judge, is, without knowing and willing it, completely subjected to the rule
of lies. With such a people, you can do whatever you want."

Trump has the greatest glass jaw in the history of this country , nobody has even seen a glass jaw as perfect as his ;)
How transparent are his thoughts - jealousy is a curse..........
Harris will make mince meat out of him one on one.

It seems increasingly clear his heart isn’t in this anymore. He ran again to get revenge on Biden, now that Joe’s dropped out he’s just going through the motions.
“I’m doing really well despite being up against a really bad candidate”

Makes sense.

Sounds more like a bitchy teenaged girl running for homecoming queen.

The people are starting to see trump for who he truly is, 2016 he was different a breath of "fresh" air when it comes to politics, and everyone hated Hilary. 2020 was a bit wacky, COVID was still the forefront of everyone minds. the fog is starting to lift and as the old fable say "the emperor has no clothes"..

basing my opinion based on what i read on here, reddit and other social media.. think the blue wave will continue to the election and be a pretty much a wipe out the MAGA version of the GOP. Trump will get more and more desperate and continue to blame, the media, Biden, JD Vance, etc anyone but himself. there will be a fart of resistance to the election results, but due to the overwhelming shift to blue, anyone with half a brain will stay quiet.

Trump wont get jail for his felonies, but find huge amount of dollars (not sure if judge has that call), he'll get humiliated in the election, and then the court cases will start to mount up (missing election fund money), and he will either drop dead or flee to another country and then tweet how he is in political excile.. until he is forgotten and becomes a go to joke for late night talk shows.

The lack of a limit on the length of Truth Social posts really does Trump no favours. One of the factors propelling him to the WH in 2016 was his effective ability to convey messages in 140-character Tweets. No ranting possible.
