Wondering that there is a plan in place to get Blight to be an oversized wing. Obviously the running capacity is there now and man he could utilise his intercepting skills to brilliant effect in that role, especially as a Defensive type wing. Basically look to replace Kamdyn but younger, fitter, and more skillful lol

Nah mate he’s a broad replacement. Third tall.

Wish we had leppa on the coaching staff. He made such a difference on getting the defensive craft right.

Would certainly be a point of difference but I don't think Blight has enough tricks to make it as a wingman. Reading of the play, groundballs, foot skills etc. Think he's far more suited to an intercept marking 3rd tall.

I do often wonder why clubs don't try the Richo 2008 style wingman more regularly. But in saying that Richo was an aerobic freak and still got forward enough to kick 48 goals that season. Can modern wingman be afforded that type of freedom? Would be good to see.

I agree with you that he is better suited to that Third tall role but was intrigued by the proposition. He definitely has slimmed down for a role with more running capacity, maybe he will be playing higher up and looking to stream back into the backline to intercept, I like that as well hahahaha.

I think he just wasn't fit enough last year. He's far from quick so dropping some weight can only help.

the pre-season will do him wonders....

I don't think people appreciate the fitness gap between FT AFL listed players, and VFL/WAFL/SANFL part time players.

It's probably why a lot of guys who can't make it at AFL level still play well at the lower level, simply because they are better conditioned than the other players and don't have to waste energy on day jobs.

I hear ya, and I am the same...I don't waste energy on any jobs...I do the sloth!

Lots of things to like about him. A few things that need to improve though was his kicking and pace and being a bit lighter on his feet.

To be honest i think Miller would make a better third tall option with his pace and footskills.Thats just utilising Millers best attributes in the best role for him.
Blighty if anything should be played a bit like we did with Astbury.
