Personally i worry about the lack of leadership and experience forward. If Lynch is hurt then its obviously going to have to be Kossie and the kids.
It would be a bit of a slap in the face if Ben Miller does not get a look in regardless of what people think of his last few games.
And Blight has had a ripper preseason and banged the door down.
I suppose it doesn't matter who we play they are all, Miller, Kossie and Blight playing for their career's imo.
I actually think Millers pace athleticism and kicking great attributes for a third tall role rather than kpd.
I wonder if they will play all three first up. Kossie to DeKoning, Blight to McKay and Miller to Curnow if that is what Carlton do.
With three big talls we need an injection of pace back there Smith and say Trezise with Flossy showing the way.

Ok what have you done with the real Mopsy? It is like an evil genius has been kidnapped by some well balanced & kind soul who is now impersonating Mopsy.
Miller has 2 more years after which he will be an unrestricted FA. You would fancy his chances of getting a good offer from somewhere, and possibly more than one somewhere, probably including us. He is out of the death zone, played his way out of it the first half of 2024...until signing the contract. I would take his later season form with a grain of salt until and unless it is shown to be his level. The club was playing for draft picks in that period.
Kozzy and Blight are definitely playing for their AFL futures this season, especially if as we suspect, Kozi's deal expires at the end of 2025. The club will be hoping as many of these guys as possible + Gibcus & Young(& Balta) display good form. Any surplus will be able to be sold off to other clubs, or potentially Taz down the line. Miller & Blight could be of particular interest to the WA clubs. If we can get a few of these guys surplus to our requirements to pass muster there should be a couple of rd 2 picks in it for us to help us fill out our next Blake Carrington team.

kozzi and blight worked pretty well i thought. midfield was noncompetitive which makes the defenders jobs ten times harder.

Though he looked okay matched up on a quality opponent and with a non-existent midfield. Might be something there. Starts r1 at this stage for me.

Hard to stop Allen when the midfield isnt doing anything to stop the supply. From what I saw, he did well enough and he didnt get lost. A few of the contests he lost he really couldnt of done anything bar a punch to the back of the head.

Yeah I agree. Need to play him on Pies best tall forward next week. If he plays well he's a lock for round 1.

Really think Kozzi put a strong foot forward as a defender.
Took some nice grabs, made some sound decisions.
Would be a legit chance for Round 1 if he puts in another good game vs Collingwood.

I think it isn't just a matter of rd 1, these guys like Kosi, Blight, Miller and others are going to be competing against each other ongoing for limited spots. We have more or less 16 key position players on top of our 4 rucks. 11-12 key position players on a list is more normal.
