"I was stoked for Robbie to be able to hit the scoreboard, he's been outstanding ever since he came over through the mid-season draft and the boys have welcomed him with open arms," Tom Lynch told NMFC Media post-game.

"I was mainly impressed with his willingness to work up and down the ground but also his unselfishness.

He's had other opportunities to kick plenty of goals like he did today but his first thought is always to look to bring others into the game, so that's a real quality we love in our forwards in particular."

A goal where a forward was front and square...oh my days!

Get him in.

Play him and Spicer together.

Spicer - Larkey - Hansen Jnr
Harvey - CCJ - Zurhaar

Mind have some defensive pressure and pace in the forward line for the first time in 15 years.
At this point, we have nothing to lose!

I hate to be a negative Nancy about a bloke who seems to have nous about where to position himself as a small forward, but the looping nature of his kicks concerns me greatly. Was apparent in his WAFL highlights too. No penetration, 35m seems the max distance he can comfortably kick. Even that last goal, which showed great class, bounced on/before the line. Hopefully someone helps him out with the technique and he can get a bit more purchase, because I reckon I could kick it further than him at this moment in time

He is very raw. His fitness, strength, conditioning and systems learning all need work. However, you can see the raw talent and he’s already producing decent returns.

Yeah I'm not too worried about those other aspects. But the kicking is often the trait that remains similar to how it was in juniors. It is certainly nice to have a natural small forward though

Has he filled out already, ever so slightly?
A little. He mentioned that he did a lot of preseason work to get fitter and stronger after not being drafted.

He has a rangy frame that allows him to compete for more marks and play above his height. Similar to Goater in that respect.

Like Coop, I’d like him to string a few of those games together before getting a game. It does these young guys so much benefit to bust the door down as we saw with Cooper.

Really positive signs.
Does it though? We love leaving players in the VFL whilst the usual suspects stink it up.

Whether he's ready or not is the question. I'd give him a taste against West Coast. Play in front of family. We're going to have to be patient as he's not going to have as much time at AFL level so we might see a few of his kicks get smothered or him getting caught holding the ball whilst he realises how quick you have to make decisions with ball in hand. But he's got some ability to work with.
