I can't wait to see the Manchester Rain get given a tickertape parade down the streets of Sydney like the 1989 Ashes winning Aussies players were.

Explain the logistics of giving Manchester rain a tickertape parade in Sydney.

The Aussies played okay cricket the first two Tests while England played slightly less than okay.

Australia dug in during the 2nd innings after appearing ready to capitulate entirely.

England left their run late with no margin for error, both within this match and in terms of the series.

If today is a washout, Australia have well and truly deserved an Ashes retention and can look forward to going for the cherry on top victory next Test.

Plenty of riveting cricket is ahead, Plugger. Today is a celebration of much needed rain for English farmers.
That last sentence is actually true, my friends at the Environment Agency drought team do like this.

It's crazy to think that since the very moment of the controversial Bairstow stumping all momentum has been with England and Australia have just won the odd session at most. Yet despite all that Australia are on the cusp of retaining the
Ashes away from home, which is always a massive achievement.

It's been such a unique series.
