On paper it's actually an amazing side (middle order in particular), team from the 4th test at the MCG when we got bowled out for 98:

Watson
Hughes
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Smith
Haddin
Johnson
Harris
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

Although reality was a different story; Ponting, Clarke and Johnson were horrificly out of form, and Smith hadn't figured out how to bat yet.
Smith was picked as a spinner that could bat too.

Just a suggestion from left field - for a country where it seems to rain for 6 months and snow for the other 6 months, why not build stadiums with retractable roofs. You could get your American friends to help you out, they have plenty of experience at building them.

Building a specialist roofed cricket stadium would bankrupt any board in the world 10 times over.

"To be honest, if the rain is detrimental to England’s chances, we should be able to play until day six or seven if need be. Also, I’m a massive flog".

DAVE WARNER'S AWAY BLUES - IT'S NOT NEWS!
Warner last hit an away ton in Sep 2017 against Bangladesh.
He has 50 away Tests (96 inn, 1 no) for 2,981 runs @ 31.4 (SR 66, 5 x 100s, 20 x 50s) in his career.
In his last 17 away Tests (32 inn, 1 no), dating as far back as SAF in Mar 2018, Warner has 617 runs @ 19.9 (SR 58, 4 x 50s)
Against England in England, he has played 17 Tests (33 inn, 0 no) for 852 runs @ 25.8 (SR 65, 8 x 50s)
In his last 9 Ashes Tests in England (18 inn, 0 no), he has 296 runs @ 16.4 (SR 56, 2 x 50s, 3 x ducks)
Warner bats at 51.5 against England at home (1,237 runs in 15 Tests, 26 inn, 2 no, 3 x 100s, 7 x 50s)
Warner bats at 58.4 at home overall (55 Tests, 95 inn, 7 no, 5,139 runs, SR 73, 19 x 100s, 14 x 50s)
It's just not right. And it has cost us, is costing us, and will continue to cost us whilst we ignore the blatantly obvious.
No good.
Love,
CSS.
It's gone right off the rail overseas the last 4 years. Was a 40 average 5 years ago. He actually has 33 scores of 50 plus at home and 27 away. The difference being 19 centuries at home and 6 away, including 200s, 300s not out. Plus alot more single figure scores away. Not converting all those 50s, more single figure scores away, falling off the tree the last 4 years away, tends to do poor things for your average as we have seen.

How exactly are pools fast you always hear this term in swimming? Is it to do with water temperature, the altitude of the pool, is it 2mm short, the filtration system?

Altitude is the big one but it’s also the way they are designed.
