I don't think it's that weird at all. He's still getting minor symptoms. When they're gone he'll play. When that will happen is not able to be forseen - it will just "happen".

It's not weird at all.

The injuries he had are ones that can linger around for months.

I'd honestly just cotton wool him for the rest of the year and get him cherry ripe for next year.

Nothing to be gained playing him under the circumstances we would be.

The thing we'd be worried about is post concussion syndrome, it can stick around for years.

Chris Nowinski, former Football Player and Professional Wrestler took something like 5 yrs to recover from his PCS due to concussions

Tend to agree....im glad the club is taking the conservative approach....arguably our most important player...get him right for 2019...

Just for relevance.
If he plays against Essendon, Sydney and Western we win. Oh and wed be sitting 3rd. Outright 3rd.
All the more reason to make sure he's right for the next 4-5 years.

Given how close we could be with the current squad, imagine were we could be with Gaff Polec and Kelly added.

It’s not weird as in the concussion as such, it’s weird how it came out of no where and the club couldn’t pin point when or how it happened

Give him a contract and get him to mentor another player in a tagging role too
conspiracy theory here: reportedly club and and BJ's management a world apart on his contract value. Medicos being super conservative to ward off any potential offers from elsewhere. Sorry BJ, you're too much of a medical risk, your gonna have to sign on the dotted line my friend. Nah, we woudn't do that

Not legal for them to fudge the medical documents.

We can't even keep a five goal lead - who says we're good enough to get away with fraud?

Yes Brad, you said he was close so just ******* play him! Much better to appease an impatient BigFooty poster than manage a brain injury week by week.

Yep that's exactly what I meant you twat.

If he is going to say that every ****ing week then he should rest him for the season and reload.

He's likely only passing on what the medicos are telling him, and as is the nature of concussion type injuries, they have a way of not conforming to normal healing schedules.

Yes, he could do that to appease your anger at not having certainty at weekly selection.

OR (and this is a bit out there, so go easy on me)

We could just let the Neurologist decide.

I agree with your last sentence. But I just love the fact there are a few here who've never set foot in the medical world as their profession yet go on as if they're qualified on the matter. Eg doing what Ian Healey does.

Almost like those who go on about what happens behind closed doors at the club and lay the blame at one particular coaches feet when they have no idea what's actually said.

Hardly professing to be Doogie Howser to suggest the brain doctor should make the weekly call on a concussion injury.

Disagree. I'm not glad about it one bit. The time is now. Whack a helmet on him & get him out there. He's got October onwards to recover. He's out of contract at season's end. He might not even be a NM player next year!!!! I remember being struck in the left temple by a ninja star at Albion train station a few years ago. I was a bit delusional for a few weeks but I'd been training for years to complete a 5km fun run out at Brimbank. Nothing was gonna stop me from competing. So I just ran the 5km with an old Stack-Hat I found out the back. Sure, I didn't break the 5km World Record (not even close to be honest), but I woke up the next day at 5am to a standing ovation, and 2 hours later, I felt brand new.
