Was it categorically from Brando and his manager, or a bit of sniffing from some journo's in the know. I would be more surprised if it was the former and not the later. Brando will carry weight on his shoulders this week that he should not have to, I can't imagine he or his manager instigating that.

I agree with you, if it were Real Madrid or Man City Ellis wouldnt be playing this week. Grimes or Vlastuin, yes. But bottom6 player Ellis?
Is his heart going to be in it? Got that 3 million dollars to protect. He isnt really the most inspiring at the best of times.
Ideally the 22 selected should be completely committed to the grand final and 2020 at tigerland ..

Its only 'speculation' because he is not officially allowed to sign with the suns under the rules until the official defined period.
If he were allowed to officially announce it now hed be at dreamworld

Trade week speculation is full of rumour. I'll give you one. I have a rock solid source telling me Brando is going to GCS for 8 years on a $ 1 Mill/year.

Brandon Ellis could leave Richmond as a dual premiership player, with the wingman agreeing to join Gold Coast.
Ellis, a restricted free agent at season’s end, had attracted interest from a handful of Melbourne-based clubs, but has settled on the Suns.
It’s understood the deal is for five years at about $600,000 a season — a contract thought to be just under the threshold that would deliver the Tigers a first-round compensation pick.
There is a slim chance Ellis could stay at Punt Road, given free agency rules allow Richmond to match any rival offer.
But, barring any unforeseen list changes, that is considered extremely unlikely as Ellis seeks greater financial security.

He loves Richmond and his teammates but from 2020 it's not viable for him to remain at Richmond.
