Tough markers here.

Costly turnover in the first quarter but presented after that. Went at 80%.

Don't underestimate how tough it is coming up against your old mob.

They all made a beeline for him after the game - so he would have had high emotions.

He'll be a very good player for us.
I'd prefer he reversed the trend of playing well in scratch matches and fumbling and turning it over in the seniors. Next week had better be better. Just can't deal with the ****ing lack of cleanliness anymore. From anyone. He literally used to be one of the cleanest players in the comp but he looked like a North player within minutes of the season beginning

Great player over the journey but a lot of why he was moved on manifested tonight. His disposal is no longer game breaking and he gets exposed the other way.

Will always be a premiership hero for us though

Directly turned the ball over or put it in dispute about 8 times.

We had a few blokes not touch the footy but Daniel poisoned a lot of our launches and only produced 2 score involvements.

Was a very poor game by his standards.
Pick 25! :stern look

Look I don't mind him. But, and it's a big butt, and I don't like big butts, I cannot lie, butt ...he was part of a draft strategy that ultimately cost us a first round pick that is likely to be very early. First four probably. That should be have been off the table. We need more absolute elite talent, not less.

The perfect footballer is yet to be borne, so they all make mistakes, but on the other hand, I'm not enjoying the absolute howler every game.

I'm hoping it's a connection piece, and things will smooth out as instinct among the group develops

Playing Caleb in defense is always going to be risky. If we take that risk, there needs to be a bigger reward. Whilst he is an excellent kick if the aim is to retain possession, he lacks penetration. Yesterday Daniel did no damage whilst Dale and Freijah cut us to shreds. Fairly obvious why the Dogs were willing to let him go for free (not that we were willing to push them to that). Maybe give him another run or two down back, then try him as a high half-forward. I think that it would be better using his skills going inside fifty than chipping across the back flank.

We make every half back look like a top 5 player in the comp with how unaccountable we are.

Lack of penetration in kicking is a worry……but he’s got 5-6 other mates down there.
When do we start drafting and playing elite kicking defenders? Some that can intercept the ball in the air would be terrific too, if possible.
We'd be hoping that Goater, Bergman or Hardeman can become that type of player.

Bergman played a bit of wing yesterday in the VFL; he was ok, without doing anything amazing, I certainly have more confidence in him a contest/physical aspect; on a wet day with bodies crashing in everywhere, he did his share

Hardeman was very good; tough, slick with his hands under pressure in the D50 and put his left leg to excellent use. If the Archer suspensions stands and we need a lock down, I'd say Hardeman is the choice - Fisher was the pick of the HBfers yesterday, but not in a lock down role

He's got proven elite judgement, positioning and kicking.

People focus too much on what he's not.

In a backline lacking any elite traits - we need him and his leadership back there.

Didn't have a great game, but noticeable watching at the ground that we just gave him so few good options on kickouts. Absolutely zero system or set plays to free up short or long targets. Just a lot of stagnant hand waving.
