All of the above. If he had a working back and knees he'd still be our best KPF, but he's chronically cooked now. What’s up with Ben Brown these days? Is he injured or just out of favour?
I'd still take him above our other forward options. He's got a cool head - something the rest of our talls don't have. He can also kick straight. If he can jog, he should be in against Carlton. All of the above. If he had a working back and knees he'd still be our best KPF, but he's chronically cooked now.
#ARGGet out for ever. You got s**t spud. Out marked 3x, provided absolutely nothing as a key forward. We played fun footy for the first time in years and it was thanks to us playing and kicking to anyone but this bloke.
All that is true, but how bad is it that putting him in instead of Tom McDonald doesn't even make our team worse? Toby Bedford looking pretty appealing at this point... We've been arrogant in the way we've decided that we don't need a really strong forward setup because we're so good in other areas. We've neglected that aspect of our recruiting.#ARG
Called it an April his body was cooked, expecting some apologies from the ones who still said he was awesome
Yeah I definitely wasn't #ARG on that one but Bedford was a big loss considering how crap our depth is. Bedford coming on instead of Laurie might have actually added somethingAll that is true, but how bad is it that putting him in instead of Tom McDonald doesn't even make our team worse? TL;DR our forward line sucks.
tbf you have been calling it for 3 years, he played a pivotal role in a premiership since then
But look even a broken clock is right twice a day
Pivotal? Lol bit excessive. Fritsch and Trac were pivotal. Brown played.
Better being right twice a day than not at all like the like whores you got going
McDonald played 8 more games and kicked 8 more goals. Was he pivotal aswell? I don't reckon anyone in our forward line except for Fritsch were pivotal. They were role players in a midfield and defensive machineTo be fair, I'd say he was pivotal during the season so we could finish first but not necessarily the finals.
I don't think we sneak into top position if he hadn't played that season. Was essentially a non-factor in the GF but he did a lot to help out our forward line throughout the year.
Agreed. 3 goals in the GF is a fair effort. I thought he was very good in the finals tbh. Especially against Lions. Took 9 marks, worked up the ground really well providing up a target around the 50 arc. He did that several times throughout the year. Straightened us up nicely. Do we win the flag without Brown? Not sure we do. Lots of pivotal players that year at different times. He was one. Unfortunately been pus since like a few of his team-mates.To be fair, I'd say he was pivotal during the season so we could finish first but not necessarily the finals.

Yep Brown was decent in 2021, sure we obviously bombed on his head most of the time but he was able to compete better back then. 2021 brown would be handy now, it's too bad he isn't anywhere near that anymoreAgreed. 3 goals in the GF is a fair effort. A random stat I stumbled across on AFL tables is that Ben Brown is currently at a 75% win rate at the Demons. For context, this is the equal highest (with first years Windsor, Howes, Billings) of all our current players bar Woewodin (6 from 6 baby). Next best is Bowey at 73%. So I'm not saying Brown = W ... the data is.
