49. Ray Schofield
50. Robert Wiley

So obviously they're taking into account both WA footballers playing interstate (as well as in WA), plus interstate footballers playing in WA. Doesn't seem right to me.

Also, to me, Guy McKenna way too far down the list. He was a champion, probably my favourite ever WC Eagle.

Absolute proof the WA meeja are pwnt by the WCE...

I found it really strange, because they then did the top 50 AFL footballers.

I think the WA list should have just been players raised in WA

My top 10:

1. Graham Farmer
2. Barry Cable
3. Dennis Marshall
4. Stephen Michael
5. Maurice Rioli
6. Chris Mainwaring
7. Ross Glendinning
8. Brian Peake
9. Garry Buckenara
10. Peter Matera

I thought it was a pretty good list but don't think Judd and Pavlich should be eligible.

John Todd is an interesting one. Absolute gun player but was injured early. I didn't think he played many games? McKenna definitely higher. Rioli too.

Nothing suprises me over here in regards to the WA sports media. That is a terrible effort apart from the first two as mentioned.

Yeah what's the go with that? Surely it should either have been those who've played in WA (eg not Simon Black) or the best to be raised in WA (not Judd)?

Also Judd at 3... maybe eventually but Bunton Snr. is a bit stiff considering his 3 Brownlows and 3 Sandovers.

3 sandovers when the WAFL was arguably the strongest comp in the land puts TI (Stephen Michael) easily in the top 3.
FWIW i saw both TI and Cable play, and Stephen Michael was better.
Both played different positions obviously, but any bloke that could play CHF, Ruck, Ruck Rover against Graham Moss and Ronny Boucher would get my vote.

Have to agree,to put Cousins and Judd in front of TI is an insult.Cable while brilliant and the reason I support North Melbourne.TI is the best footballer I have ever seen.
Moss should be higher aswell

The first things that came to mind when looking at this list:

- It was produced by the Sunday Times, so not much credence can be placed in anything it says
- Barry Cable was too high. This is probably biased by listening to my father who hated him with a passion, but he was an outside player who was looked after by the umps. Just my opinion.
- Stephen Michael should be higher. Absolutely dominated a very strong comp. I am not a South Freo fan so that was hard to say.
- Rob Wiley and Brad Hardie have no business being in the top 50 of all time. No business whatsoever. There is no way that Brad Hardie was a better player than Guy McKenna, Ken Hunter and Maurice Rioli. None. As a self promoting w***er, he should make the list, as a footy player, not so much.

Usual tabloid crap, anything from the past year instantly is 50 times better than achievements from 50 years ago

List should decide what it wants to be, best Western Australian players or best players to have played in WA

Q - don't know too much about a few of the names, but how does Moss fit into things? won 3 straight B&Fs (and a Brownlow) at Essendon then continued on with another 4 or 5 when he went back? Don't know if he won a Sandover or not
