I thought he was terrible last night, dropped 3 sitter marks 2 of which cost goals on the turn over, looked a bit out of shape as well and we still don't know if he will be available in the future, might be time to replace him with one of the youngsters?
He dropped one sitter And he got blamed for one by the commentary team that was actually Dan Rioli.

He more than made up for it with his hardness, creativity and will to get the ball forward. Only Naismith and Taranto were significantly better than him across the four quarters.

Name me a proven up and comer with hardness and mongrel like Pickett and who never takes a backwards step and agile?
Automatic 22 for me.

I think he would make a perfect sub as he would come on when that hardness is needed in the latter part of the game.
Was terrible Tuesday night and cost us two goals, but he wasn't alone. He's still ahead of KMAC, JGTI, Prestia , Grimes and Hopper bc of his hardness and the ability to make his opponent and earn a hard possession. I still feel he's probably been down a bit on form and his mind is probably on his hearing coming up. I think it's insane that people are contemplating on whether he will plead guilty bc the club, especially Gale with Pickett's lawyers would know the real facts behind it all. Had he had any evidence of suggesting he was guilty he would've been sacked initially when he was charged. I'm still in the belief he had no involvement and was lied to by the actual criminals and his name was dragged into it bc of his credit card being misused for what he was told.

Won’t go into the trial stuff because it will just play itself out in due course but when I first read your post I initially thought na start Pickett on field and let one of the kids be sub so they can make an impact late in games

But once I thought about it you are probably right, time to be genuine about starting these kids and giving them the experience they need for the next phase of development

Pickett is great on the wing but also could be classed as a utility with the ability to essentially play any line if really needed so makes him great as a sub who can be thrown wherever he is needed if we have an injury or want inject a fresh player into the game

Opposition supporters melting

Shows how clueless some people are. The next court date is to prove if the Police have enough evidence to go further. It’s not like he won’t attend.

How much time do they need to gather evidence?

Always seems an element of sadism in police approach to drag out cases where insufficient evidence as some sort of ****ed up justice…
All the evidence was there ages ago, but bc Pickett is high profile they just keep digging In hope to find dirt.
I’m not losing any sleep over this bc Benny isn’t as he would’ve been sacked if anything was untoward.

No other decent thread for this guy besides that one about his court appearance, so Marlion deserves a proper footy one.

Jeez I was impressed with his game tonight. Notwithstanding that howler of a dropped mark in the second quarter which coughed up a goal, he was in our best 3 or 4 players again after that.

Hard as nails, handled the slippery ball well, and got us actually going forward a number of times. Undoubtedly best 23 based on tonight's performance.

I must have been watching a different game. Pickett made more than 1 x poor error. He gave away 1 x free kick (Clanger) and committed 4 other clangers. He killed momentum multiple times which I’m sorry to say he does every week.

He hasn’t played a genuinely good game since he kicked the match winner against GWS last year.

Time to move on from Pickett and Macca .. they’ve both been great but we’ve got better options and youngsters who need development.

Just how many youngsters do you want to play? The names I keep hearing to replace are Macca, Pickett, Grimes, Prestia, broad and quite a few more. If more than 2 or three youngsters are played at any one time then we will become cannon fodder in this comp. we've seen North and Hawthorn youngsters thrown to the wolves and both sides are still languishing. Blooding of youth has to be done at a respectable pace otherwise they don't get the benefit of learning how to play correctly from experienced players and having some success along the way.
Green, Campbell, Brown have been in the senior squad at this time. Dropping more senior players before the young players mentioned have a few games under their belt will lead to us being smashed. Steady replacement of these older players is the correct option. Not dumping 6 or 7 like people are suggesting.

This squad delivered disappointing results for 2 out of 3 years but Yze seems to be giving the senior players first crack at his game plan. a win and a loss and Suns adapting to their new game plan worse than us. Dow has been great and just hope it clicks for midfield and fwd line.

Round 0 might be a lucky win...surely one Bolton, Martin, Balta will kick a goal.

the class of 21 look ok though. As does Tresize and Young. With Gibcus finding his feet maybe Vlas for Brown next week. But can't see massive changes to the practice match best 22..

63 gamer Jack Ross hasn't been able to get a start. Will Yze drop Kmac now? Probably not.

Banks is the kid I'd play if fit. Pickett as depth.

Green AND Campbell as small fwds might be too much. Unless coach wants to make some statement. With Mansell injured I wouldn't be surprised if MRJ gets a game for Graham.

Young Ryan keeps his spot.
