I wouldn't, but I have a friend who collects 5 cent pieces.
I used to collect them too. Looking back now i have now idea why. Could've been just after the 1 and 2 cent coins were deemed obsolete and thought that these 5's would be worth something one day. Got about $60 worth of them.

It's fun to glue a two dollar coin to the footpath out the front of the Pub too.

:D

There was something like that done in Clarendon St down here. I was amused when some old man tried to pick it up and saved me the embarrassment of it.

I found $2 on the floor of a pizza shop the other day. I acted all stealthily to pick it up, eyeing off the other customers hoping they didn't see it before I got to make my move, then walking over to the counter to have another look at the menu, then dragging the $2 coin under my foot back to the seat, scratching my ankle... turned out it was my $2, since I always forget to zip up my purse. :(

Apparently people who collect coins drive the RBA nuts. They have to create extra coins to cover it and it's expensive

nope, 50c and up for me.

I dont even wait for my change if it is 5 or 10c or if I do I put it in a charity thing if there is one near by.

Best I have come across is a $50 note in a club and whilst out surfing once I had a $20 note float past so I grabbed that post haste. :D

We used to supaglue 20c pieces to the floor of my workplace (factory) and watch all the suckers try and pick it up.

Hmmm . . . well . . . it did pass the time and make a dull day more interesting:D

I used to put a fake $100 dollar note in my dads boss's shop, gained a few customers.

5c? Not bloody worth it! I throw my change on the ground for some bum to pick up or put it in one of these charity collection tins. The Salvos is a good way to get rid of your shrapnel for a good cause.

I'll only pick up gold.

A good trick we used to do at tafe during lunch time was to tie a peice of fishing line to a $5 note and leave it in the middle of the court yard, then watch and laugh! Soon as they bend over to pick it up, you pull the line a tiny bit so it looks like the wind is blowing it away. After they have followed the note for a bit, they soon see you and your mates laughing out loud. The look of embarrisment on their face was priceless!

we play this game at school, chuck 5c down and see who picks it up
or super glue it to the ground, it is sooo funny

When we were kids, we used to glue a 20c piece on the footpath outside our house. Then we'd hide behind the fence and wait for someone to walk past, then we'd drop another 20c piece onto a brick, then watch 'em look down and see the glued coin on the ground. When they bent down to pick it up, we'd let 'em scrabble for it for a while, then we'd tear a piece of material, making a noise like their pants had split.

Was very hard to remain silent as some scurried off, holding their hands over their botties. :p

I'd pick up gold coins yeah. Usually kick them first to see if they're stuck down. ;)

When I was about 8 I found $10 outside the local pool, that's the best I've ever found sadly.

Waste not want not . It all adds up . Do not hesitate if i see money on the ground.

And i have never ever been burnt trying to pick up a glued coin either keep trying guys.
