Eh, anybody who knows anything about physiotherapy can conclude that his groins are stuffed for the long term. Missing 2 years of professional sport whilst opting out of a surgery will ultimately weaken his body. The muscles in his groin have weakened to the point where he will be unable to do large amounts of exercise (especially a sport like AFL).

Hopefully we cant shaft Sydney at the trade and leave them with an overpaid injured player on their list.
Swans lurkers: apologies, not only do i doubt that this muppet is a physio but his negative sentiments are not shared by everyone here.
I hope and expect Joe will get back to his best whereever he goes. Which I still hope is nowhere

So what are we realistically expecting here? An early first & a player or early second? Much more than that probably reaching imo, happy to be wrong of course.

2 firsts seems pretty straight forward to me. Maybe a second or third back if we wont miss it. It would be more if not for the recent injuries of course.

I would pay 2 firsts for Ben King, and Joe has proven alot more than him

Nope. His groin muscles are pretty much made out of tissue at this point. It also doesn't help that he has such a large kicking action (stresses the hips and groin area).

He might be doing us a favour if we can grab a couple of good picks tbh

We need to move past square one? Sydney are the ones who want a contracted player.....we don’t have to do s**t.

A contracted player who says he wants out of your club.

Now, as for "not having to do s**t"....true, you have that option. But it could cost you a years salary and then he could walk in free agency - where the compensation to your club will be less than what we are likely to offer. I'm not sure that is a good outcome for anyone.

I respectfully suggest you re-watch the 2016 Swans again - he was always best 22.

In any event, people can pontificate all they want - any potential deal will be done between Essendon and Sydney, and not on BigFooty. Sydney have a reputation for being fair traders (refer again to the Mitchell deal), and Essendon will need to have the same mindset in order to move past square 1.

Referring to the Mitchell deal is pointless because firstly he was out of contract and secondly you were forcing him out due to your salary cap squeeze thanks to Franklin and Tippett.

None of these factors apply to Joe Daniher so **** off with your piss weak offer.

And it’s not like your club didn’t keep Ryan O Keefe when he wanted to leave so don’t even get on your high horse about that.

If he wants out he shouldn't have signed a contract. It's a contract...

He's had more than one get together with Tom Harley. EFC knew about all the get togethers.
I’ve no doubt, but your post that the club threw him under a bus is as I stated ‘quite the claim.’ I’m not saying it didn’t happen but you’re going to need some proof of that before adding a layer to this already onion like situation.

Im expecting a long drawn out negotiation with a heap of shit flung at the club but mainly dodoro and the trade not to happen in the end. Then we will go through it again in 12 months time.

Except if we keep him we can have a functioning forward line in 2020 while we court/develop a replacement. We are pretty screwed if he goes.
With him firing anything his possible, without him we at best case limp into 8th.

2 firsts is the minimum to get it done I reckon. There are alot of reasons for us to hold onto to him. A guaranteed compo first rounder in 12 months is only one of them.

True or false...JD informed EFC that he was considering his options. EFC said sure, have some space, think about it...then ratted on him for meeting with Tom Harley in the hope of pressuring him to stay, but the treachery had the opposite effect.
Hilariously false

Does Essendon really need draft picks? Have to wait 2-3 years before they become mature AFL players. Dons are not that far off now when they play at their best. Reckon we need bigger bodied mid fielders that run both ways and protect guys like Merrett and Shiel. Maybe one draft pick and SPP.
If we get 5 + 9 id offer 9 and Fantasia to Port for Wines. Wines rounds out our midfield. Use 5 on Kemp.

Just a whisper that I heard.
When was the last time Sam McClure broke an EFC related story?

False.
The meeting was as explained by both JD and TH.
He only decided to leave when EFC threw him under a bus for a nothing meeting, a meeting which EFC knew was nothing.

Yeah sure mate, was a nothing meeting, wouldn't be tampering, nope, not one bit.

Meanwhile the NBA fines the Bucks for saying they will offer their own player a max contract.

Sydney will offer something reasonable, and the deal will get done. I do find your posturing on our board quite ridiculous TBH.

People don’t leave clubs because some random at what could be any level of the club had a yarn to a journo. What a frivolous thing to make a significant life choice on.

So you’re saying EFC told Sam McClure, of all people, that he wanted out?

This whisper you hear, does it tell you to light fires as well?

I'm saying that EFC knew all along that he was meeting with Harley and that it happened more than once and they were cool with it then out of the blue Sam McClure, of all people, breaks a story that there is more to their get togethers.
