I think if he wants a fresh start and be Joe Incognito we should be looking at the Suns priority picks

Incredibly and now clearly hypocritically, Daniher personally pitched to Shiel the Bombers case over those of Carlton, St Kilda and Hawthorn to convince the former Giant to choose Essendon in the 2018 Telstra AFL Trade Period.

Thanks Damo. We read your piece.

Oh and please learn the concept of sliding doors.

Would be nice if he got his head stuck in one.

The bloke has some good sources for stories and gets a lot right but he simply can not help putting a negative slant on everything:thumbsdown:

Just on the media. I have come in to bat for them, mainly because I know a couple of them and related to another but it is reporting like the John Ralph article today that sets the standard for given an inch take a mile. He said Tim told listeners Daniher definitely wanted a trade to Sydney. I was listening and he didn't say definitely . He said Joe would like to be in Sydney in the context that he would like the life style .

For what it is worth I think Joe may go. Not because he hates us or has issues with how we treated him. Simply because he is mentally drained , the operation has not given the results expected and he feels he needs a fresh start where he can just be some bloke in a suburb and not make the news because he has two beers at a pub. I may be wrong but I think the scales have tipped slightly towards leaving.

I know for a fact he loves the club and the players which is why the decision has taken so long and has been hard for him.
Any negatives comments about our treatment are simply uninformed rubbish. Several medical opinions where sort when he first got injured and they all called for rest. When he did not come up again more opinions where sort and in the end they went with the Sydney surgeon that did Buddys groin op which worked pretty well for Bud. They went above and beyond to try and find a solution.
What about when he first started showing signs of injury though. Do you think it was mismanagement by the club to play him 3 times in 10 days or whatever it was around Anzac Day last year when he clearly wasn't right? Or was it more a case of Joe not being completely upfront about how he was feeling?

What’s the point when he’ll waste those picks! Sometimes going the obvious choice is better than the we think he’s “gonna be a midfielder”.
Taking a sensible, low-risk pick that pans out as a decent player can't possibly match the rush of being credited with finding a "hidden gem".
The feeling of being congratulated after persisting with that little flanker until he's a gun mid, is worth a thousand Alex Morgans.

...and elimination final losses...

How many top 10 picks have we actually wasted though? Our record is very good with top 10 picks. Our most recent list is McGrath, Parish, Francis, Daniher, Heppell, Melksham, Hurley. I guess if you want to go back another few years you can throw in Myers and Gumbleton. So I reckon your post is more than a little melodramatic.

Melksham, he’s played better footy at Melbourne... as a forward, we drafted for a midfielder. McGrath, still isn’t proven but all signs point to being a small defender - we needed a midfielder. Kavanagh and Langford... welll...

Daniher was a free hit effectively.

Tick to Hurley and Heppell (though a flanker in junior years), hopefully ticks to Parish and Francis.

We get more wrong than right otherwise we’d have won a final within 15 years.

Kavanagh and Langford weren't top 10.
