Loved Joe's attack in marking contests. Dropped a few,though the humid conditions were unhelpful. His agility is impressive as his second efforts. Again tired in the second half and I can see it will be another three years before he shows his full ability.

Look at what the other key forwards did for the night.. Dixon nothing, Lynch not much better.. even Carlisle only took 1 major 'grab' up forward.. (NOT saying Carlisle was poor)...

So it was a tough night for forwards full stop.. thought JD was the best 'true tall forward' in the game..

Plus it worked a treat with Carlisle leading higher up the ground and playing link position.. far more 'at ease' than Hurley.. I think this combo works and will keep building..

Hard to say. Gut says he'll be a Tippett like player

I quite like Tippett and I watched him quite a bit last year and my impression is that he is quite a good mark, but once the ball hits the deck he is only so so, and tended to end up spending a lot of time picking himself up off the turf after a marking contest.

What I have seen of derp he is a good mark + is pretty good when the ball hits the deck and tends to keep his feet or at least bounds straight up if he hits the deck and thus remains in the contest.

He reminds me more of a young Fish before he done his knee.

I really hope they are getting Matt Lloyd to give him some goal kicking practice. The miss from the goal square which went right angle to where it should have gone gave me sleepless night.

It's like Karma. Gave my fair share to Richo and Cloke over time.

Two goals in each pre-season game. Good effort, especially considering the delivery he was getting. If he can maintain that average in the actual season I'll be very pleased.

yup exactly, I would be happy with 1.5 goals a game with about 35ish for the season but if he can break into the mid 40s in his second year that would be unreal.
