Nothing wrong with his form - Is usually in the top 2 or 3 for score involvements which indicate he obtains value from his performances.

Moves into the top 10 in the coaches votes with another 10, not a bad effort given we’ve still got that game in hand and his one missed with suspension, do we take him for granted sometimes?

Because he's not spearing kicks to Daniher anymore people overlook other aspects of his game that have vastly improved in the last couple years

Absolutely we do. We have four undersized inside midfielders with poor to average kicking skills and yet he's the one that most want to trade of the 5.

was disappointed he wasn't in the LG this year. Always thought he brought high standards and a bit of edge. When at his best his brand is what i want to see across the team.

I do !

when you take a second to look at the complete package he brings to the game it’s easy to see and want more than what he routinely offers.

His precision kicking, the meters he gains, his score involvements, the ability to work up (Inside 50s) and down (Rebound 50s) the ground is good as well.

Feel we’ve used him more out of necessity through the starting midfield 3 than as a deserving recipient.

Feels like the sorta guy to go “f it” and set standards anyways.

Merrett returning to form is making me happy. His last two weeks shows that he is untouchable. He gives our midfield a point of difference when he's on.

Is the wing his position? Saw him starting outside the centre square for a number of bounces.

Thought Wednesday was easily his best game for the club in some time. Would love to see his kicking skills return but feel that is more about personnel and systems than Merrett himself.

Merrett on a wing opens up a spot for a different midfielder to start as well. Something many of us have been wanting for our samey type
Midfield group.

Actually today was the bad,old Merrett through no fault of his own - For unknown reasons, the coaches had him play as a defensive midfielder which was an issue for most of 2018 and part of 2019 - He is wasted when he obtains the majority of his possessions in the back half.

It's a misnomer to call him the "defensive" midfielder because that implies he is defending.

He's just going back to defence to rack up stats. It's not defending.

It's amazing how he can have a teammate open in F50, totally ignore that teammate and instead kick it to an opposition player. Did it inside the first two minutes against the Saints.
