Hawks are not that good.
Calrton should have played finals last year with the list they had . The absolutely should be playing finals now with Cera and co coming on board.
God I hope you’re right about the poos and wees. On paper they look bog average but stranger things have happened.

It's shite but it's okay. Stuff like this is inevitable but it could cause us to be able to develop other players' versatility and our sustainability. If it helps Caldwell or McGrath also become that player, it may be a blessing in disguise.

Sorry about the crap vision but I videoed it from the tv.

It happened in the same passage of play where Cox done his ankle, with 3.37min left to play in the last Qrt.

I actually think it happened when he got drilled by Berry coming out of the stoppage in their forward 50. That's at least when he stayed down and limped off.

Injury report is much the same as what we already knew.

Rutten on AFL360 mentioned having to “put a tightrope around it” which I assume means the surgery is the same one we’ve heard of before that Joel Selwood had a couple of years back (drill a hole through both bones and put surgical string, rather than an actual tight rope, through it to hold it together).

After being diagnosed with a syndesmosis injury on Sunday, vice-captain Zach Merrett will undergo surgery in the next couple of days to repair his torn ligament.

The 26-year-old will then undergo a rehabilitation process once he recovers from the procedure.

“We were hopeful we’d gotten away with a syndesmosis injury, but unfortunately on the scan the next day it presented with a high-grade ankle injury,” Murphy said.

“Now he’ll go into surgery early this week and it’s all about how he comes out of that from a surgical point of view. The acute management is key and we’ll build him up once he gets into the club.”

"Merrett had surgery for the tightrope (surgery technique) for that syndesmosis injury. He’s now in a boot and walking around," Murphy said.

"The first two weeks (post-surgery) are the most important part, so we’re respecting the healing process there. Once that two weeks is up, we’ll get him going from a rehab point of view. Hopefully we’ll see him sooner rather than later.

Merrett, who suffered a syndesmosis injury in the Bombers’ round two loss to Brisbane, has made a series of positive progressions to the point where he will begin to begin on-track work just four weeks after his surgery.

Head of high performance Sean Murphy said the 26-year-old's trajectory to returning to play was highly promising.

“‘Junior’ (Merrett) is going really well,” Murphy told Essendon’s Liberty Financial Performance Update.

“The settling after that surgery is the most important part and he’s in a really good spot. He’s up running, starting some offline (agility) work this week and we’ll see him sooner rather than later, but it’s all going well for him and he’s ticking off all the markers that we need.”

Will not play...end of!

If he does, from the injury updates of the last 2 weeks, it's either a miracle and the 2nd coming of Christ, or this club is in more trouble than I could ever imagine.

Allir did his in round 1 and came back last week and Walsh was a similar time frame it's not unheard of.

Yeah it was funny with Aliir - because I remember he was supposed to be out for ages and then all of a sudden he was back.

Its a lot different how you perceive such things when its your team though.

But at least with Merrett he's a durable type. So it doesn't worry me as much as it would with others.
Honestly rushing back Stringer from a hamstring seems more risky to me.
