I think a lot of people here are having a conniption for nothing.

He was never going to play all 22 games and if he was, he'd only play half of each match. He's done bloody well for a first season player and if he's got an injury niggle it's better to rest him for a week then bring him back.

That said, I wish he'd had a niggle against Freo. Playing against Bartel/Chapman/Corey/etc would be great for his development.

He has a sore back from carrying the midfield for 7 weeks. Give him a breather.

lol, spot on.

and ive had a laugh at those thinking that its a consipracy theory. He is injured, he is not playing...deal with it!!

A bit more info on Jack's injury...

When discussing our game on SEN a few moments ago, Mark Fine said that they had been in touch with the club and Ziebell's problem is 'groin soreness'.

On League teams on Fox Sports, 'Ziebell...leg...two weeks' just scrolled across the bottom of the screen. I hope he only misses this week.

It's a rest. Calm down.

Yep! I mentioned in a thread after round one that he would have a break every month or so. You can't work a young bloke like this into the ground. He is an early starter and needs to be managed. All credit to the club for having a plan to rest him from time to time. Was told last week he had a niggle but was OK so a week or two off is on the cards.

One win by 5 points and the mediocrity bandwagon is back in full swing.
Has a Rising star nomination ever been flicked the following week?
Dubious decision at best, hardly a reason to get stuck into posters for airing their disappointment or anger at such a pathetic decision.

Would you prefer Dean's approach with Corey Jones?

Crutches during the week, he plays anyway and two years straight he crashes and burns come finals time before being trade bait and 2s fodder.

AA (close) to 2s player in 2 seasons.

Geez Rippednew you need a chill pill mate, Bit fired up over nothin.

Highly unlikely Laids would drop one of our better players this year for conspiracy reasons:)

Yeah hope so. Just pissed he isnt playing after snagging the NRS nom, and his media street. He wouldve been busting a ball to get amongst the cats this week.

The last thing that the club would want to do is play a promising young player who has an injury and have a player like Ling all over him.

What i've heard is that he's got op and could miss 4 - 6.

another classic post

tell me,does posting on here interfere with your day job as Jeff Kennetts speech writer ?:thumbsu:

Maybe the club put off Jack's rest until he got his nomination?

Is Ben Ross still eligible for the Rising Star? He would be a chance for a nom before the end of the year if he is kept in the side for a while. Then Warren, Wright and Goldstein.

The bloke has been playing injured for the last 2 years. Give him a rest and get him right. Even this season he has been carrying a back injury apparently.

Exactly.

Of course every North supporter would love him to be playing but it's more important to protect our investment than to risk making a slight injury something far worse. Some of the people on this board need to grow a brain.

Yeah I think it's a good move. I'm pretty sure we all expected JayZ to have a spell at some time..... so now's as good as any!
I'm absolutely stoked that Sam Wright has been given a game! Would've been nice to see the ex Murray Bushranger team mates playing together, but that'll come :D

maybe he did

Well lets hope he cames back next week and blitzes.Good to see they are being careful would hate to lose him for longer.Well done for making the tough decisions.Dont want to end up like Richmond where we send players out with a slight injury and it becames alot worse.

smart move...even if its only a niggle give the kid a break and freshen him up............

Im hoping its only a niggle thats 1 week and not a niggle that ends up being 12 weeks!! the clubs becoming well known for its medical diagnosis smoke and mirrors!

Awesome move to give him a break this week. He hopefully gets another break against an interstate side somewhere around Rd 17.

I can't believe anyone seriously feels aggrevied by him being rested. It is clearly in Jacks and our clubs best interests.

Looks like Hilly is a bit more durable that Jack. Who would have thought?

:p

Yeah hilly will never get an injury dont worry will play 250 games straight . typical tho outside recievers are very durable . jack will be luck to play to play 30 straight cos he goes and gets it

i dont think it's purely a rest the report from training in another thread said that wednesday training ziebell diidnt train was on the sidelines doing handball . If they had of been resting him surely he would of at least trained to keep touch watch this space.

I agree, I dont think its purely a rest.

In his press conference he was absolutely buzzing to play Geelong this week, that was on Wednesday, and if he was to be rested for the week, I think he would of known by then.

He may of done something in training yesterday.

Re: Ziebell out! But the eye on the 2011 prize is LOCKED!

wholeheartedly agree!! Much of the reason I don't care to post much around here anymore.
