Great he stayed in but his form was average, his injuries weren't healing, we weren't winning games and it's a few more games we could have pumped into a Ryan clarke or Mountfort. I know what they say about hindsight but this seems weeks late.

Our season was shot weeks ago. JZ should have been recovering by now.

Sad that our suspicions were correct, happy that he's getting a week off, worried that they aren't simply putting him in for surgeries, and angry its taken so ****ing long.

What on earth was the justifiable upside in playing him? Given our form, list, depth, team balance, ladder position, and want for a healthy captain sometime this decade I just don't know why the plug wasn't pulled earlier.

I'll be damned if he isn't carrying a dodgy shoulder and some damaged ribs, and wouldn't be surprised if he has some lower body issues too.

Just confirms that brad continues to play injured players and runs them to the ground instead of having the balls to make the hard call

"we won't play injured players"
"Duty of care" give me a break! Lol

Oh for the love of god.

People criticise Jack for playing ordinary, then coach comes out and says he's been playing injured and he's not playing this week and then its bag the coach.

Jack is the captain. He feels he has a responsibility to be out there, even under duress. No doubt if Jack wasnt captain he wouldnt be playing. Joel Selwood and Chris Scott would of done the same (ok dont bring up because they're twins :)). Now he is not capable of fronting up so he is having a rest. Why is it such a big deal?

We need Jack to be cherry ripe for 2018, and able to run out games. This has to be the priority.

If it means he doesn't play again this year, then so be it.

why the **** do u keep playing him then? his output hasn't justified being played with a bung arm and bung knee.
That's ****ing bullshit. We're already playing all the best mids we have available and we're shitful there. Our injury list is huge and has been all year. Jack playing has been a necessity for us to be competitive in the time that we were.
The way people like you go on about him you'd assume that his physicality and leadership has no knock-on effect in the playing group.

Whats the point in being competitive? Going in without him may have made a 10-15 point difference? The season was already over 6-8 weeks ago. If he had of been sent in for surgery 6 weeks ago (which is what doctors actually recommended) then he'd be looking at being primed for the pre-season which he desperately needs to improve his running capacity. Now he will probably play out the year to the benefit of nobody only to go under the knife at the end of the season and miss all the pre-christmas training.

I understand that it has a knock on effect with leadership and all that jazz, but give someone else the chance to rise the occasion. It's a development year, allow some of the young kids more chances to develop their leadership as well giving them more midfield minutes. You still have the likes of Cunners + Swallow there to guide them.

He has had a history of shoulder and knee injuries. His right shoulder has already been operated on 2 times why risk further damage when its already cooked?

I just don't see the point at playing injured players. I understand Jack can play through it or whatever but it hurts his development in the long run.
