I'm willing to say Brendon Julian has had the worst commentary performance in history tonight. He struggles to tell a skyed ball from a 2nd tier six when he's at the ground, further handicapping him by having him call off a screen resulted in an absolute disaster.

He had no idea what was happening for any ball that went in the air.

Fox calling from studio doesn’t know if it’s been given out

7 at the ground does & calls it accurately even if the camera didn’t show the umpire

The one thing I will give 7 credit for is whether for the footy or cricket they are at the ground and it shows through their commentary

The Julian/Lee/Haddin combo that Fox use often for Big Bash is really ordinary. I change to Seven when I see that they're the commentary combo.

Yes, Seven has ads but I can tolerate them. Fox shoehorn as many ads into the middle of the telecast (another Toyota six!) anyway to make up for no ad breaks.

Mar Waugh is the most insufferable on tv. cant stand him either

Andy Maher is the worst of all calling games in Perth off a screen but other than that Ch 7 BBL is generally better, especially now it's on streaming.
They even have a graphic to tell you how far a six went without the obnoxious Foxy animation

Their Test coverage is better because they're actually at the ground but this series it felt like Fox as the world feed were trying to placate the Indian audience when their team started sooking on the field or a decision would go against them, whereas Ponting in Ch 7 would criticise them a few times for their shit reviews.

Thats been the case a lot of times with Fox commentators. For the Strikers v Hurricanes match at Adelaide where they clearly had no idea where the high balls were going, and you'd swear they were commentating off a screen. But then the game finished, and we had them presenting on the ground.

Nothing to do with either channel but Mark Richardson had a mare on TVNZ during the ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka, suggesting that Australia's 70% record in ODI matches at the SCG is a nod go Nathan Lyon. The same Nathan Lyon who has played 2 ODI matches at the SCG.

And never taken a wicket there. And lost one of the two games there 😂

This is up there with the Kerry stat the other day

how did this even come up, and are we sure he didn't mean Tests?

They were talking about ODI matches. They showed a table ranking teams on their home records at their strongest home venues. South Africa were top with an 82% winning record at Newlands, Australia were about 4th with a 70% winning record at the SCG, which was Australia's top entry on thst table. Mark Richardson thought they were talking about Tests, hence the Nathan Lyon reference buy they weren't.
