But he’s gone for scans today. So really he shouldn’t have played. Looks like poor management again imo. We didn’t need him yesterday.
It has clearly been a bad call and a bad option since the dreamtime game.

Can understand why he played, we don’t really have anyone tearing down the two’s for selection even as a HFF let alone midfielder at the lower level.

Who would be next in? Mass (who was sub) and then play a Tex, ADJ or Tippa as sub? All the same sort of player anyway (small crumbing forward) that limits our flexibility from the sub p.o.v

Yep as north showed yesterday just give the kids the keys even if it’s out of necessity they might surprise you with the opportunity. I’d love to see a centre bounce with caldwell hobbs and Perkins in the middle. It’s meant to be about development and the journey after all this year, I couldn’t give a stuff if we play finals or not.

Not necessarily disagreeing, ive stated many times the need to see a solid patch of mid work from Perkins whether 'ready' or not.

Just zero chance this is the way Scott and the club are thinking now

Yeh obviously they wouldn’t be in the mind set of finals don’t matter. They’ll be aiming to play finals now and they should. But scott has also said all along we are along way off from becoming the team we want to be, and even referencing it in the presser after the game how young we still are. Finishing 7-8 and playing a final means little for the long term if you’re sacrificing for the short term,I remember having the same argument on here in 2021 when I said I reckon rutten would be worse off playing finals that year as it would put more pressure on him and the group the following season, for a side that had massively overachieved in his first year and not through system or gameplan.

This is why I am surprised we didn't pick up Narkle in the MSD to be honest.

Shiel out for an unknown period, Parish and Setterfield still 3 weeks away.
Narkle would have at least been handy depth for 6 months as cover whilst these guys got back.

We seem to take a long-term view with the MSD, I don't think any of them have been cut after 6 months yet, have they?

Parish and Setterfield should both be back after the bye – Parish is slated for a round 14/15 return and Setterfield is R15/16, with R14 being the bye. And when the draft happened last week Shiel was about to come back and play so I guess they didn't expect it to be a particularly serious injury.

I guess if one of them was season ending and critical to a premiership tilt we might be a bit more myopic with our mid-season strategy, instead we can expose Hobbs, Caldwell and Perkins a little bit, and then the senior guys will be back anyway.

Off the injury list
Not mentioned on the injury report so I'm just gonna assume he's ded
The clubs re-embraced Sheedys deception tactics this year. Why they would bother in this case i can't imagine. He's going to be such a predictable late out that its actually embarrassing.
Ditto for Menzies surely?

Menzie seems to be fine. He must've drunk concrete as a kid.

Maybe he is really from Queenstown but does not want to admit it . Either that or he lived in Parafield when he was in Adelaide.

Listed as 1-2 weeks on the injury report
Better learn how to play a secondary position or it's hard to see how he fits into the team going forward with Hobbs, Caldwell, Setterfield and Tsatas all coming through.
If everyone is healthy at the same time then there are two bench rotations, three forward rotations, and a half-back flank that they can roll through. One could also end up in a sub vest.

Shiel mostly goes forward but both he and Parish were on the defensive side at the start of the year.

Has played more forward time this year.
