Yeah, I reduced my commitment and changed from two adults tickets to two kids so didn't notice the increas as overall I was paying less. How do they justify such a steep increase?
Something about a price freeze the last couple of years. Reminds me of the old supermarket trick of setting prices too high to begin with to market their wonderful "sales" and "price drops" later.

Regardless, they don't have to justify anything. Just play to the tune of "loyalty" or "support" to make people feel bad with little to no accountability for decisions or performance.

If the coteries are going to influence decisions anyway, then as far as I'm concerned they can pay for the shortfall of my "support".

If anyone gets thier pack, let me know. I feel like they want everyone to renew / change thier membership by 31 October but then take forever to send out the pack

Get rid of the pokies and I’ll buy memberships for the family.
What does it really change though ? So we get out of them and someone else takes them over. We feel warm and fuzzy but the problem is still there. Maybe we need to ban a drink as well. Causes just as many social problems. I could not care less if all the pokies vanished over night. My personal view is the only venues they should be in are the racing clubs as they are gambling based . Us getting out of them does not solve the social issues. In fact everyone not shopping at Woolworths would have a bigger effect on the issue given there joint ventures own more than anyone else.

I think EFC legitimises the venues and gaming. There’s a whole community, club & non profit marketing spin. Maybe if they were sold off, a touch of that dissipates…

Failing that, I’d settle for warm and fuzzy ;)

Agree with Woolies. Proving to be a real pariah - across many fronts. Trying to give my hard earned to a German billionaire instead as their prices are marginally lower. Plus those special buys… ended up buying a motorbike helmet add on rear vision mirror they other day (although I have neither a motor bike nor a helmet).

I refuse to shop at Aldi as they refuse to sign up to the industry set standards as far as transport and warehousing goes. Being in transport myself under paying is a real issue but it has nothing to do with membership.:)

Around 20% of the clubs revenue comes from membership fees.
Approx another 20% comes from sales at the gate along with food drink / alcohol purchases etc...

You can still financially support the club without being a member I've been doing it for 39 years.

My son works at Aldi.
Does he work register?
If so, can you ask him to stop being passive-aggressive with his scanning everything so fast it builds up on the way too small catchment area whilst giving off, “it’s your problem the register is backed up” (rather than because they don’t operate enough tills at once).

They’ve actually just put in a few automatic registers so I just use them now but I will pass the message on. 😂

Good question. Quietly retired during covid?

Tbf it’s usually filled with articles ripped from the website anyway…
What happened to the Essendon magazine?
No James Hird Academy update at all for 2024 shows how pathetic the inner machinations of care for the fans really is

Does it? Honestly don't think it matters too much.

I suspect you are in the maybe 20% of fans that actually care. On top of that unlike Bigfooty I would say a decent amount of members are happy with the club in general even with the average on field results.

Well. I requested better seats...and got them. At least it is something for rather large increase in membership cost.
Same. Wanted to move to the opposite side and they got it done.
